  1. After watching side-by-side comparisons of the 4K and blu-ray, I will stick with the blu-ray. There's way too much yellow on the 4K, and I've seen this with other 4Ks as well. I prefer the blue-white tones of blu-rays.

  2. Hey John, thanks for the review! Believe it or not I’ve never seen this before but people keep talking about what a great movie it is and I remember when it was out in the theater and how popular was.

But are you sure that this has Dolby Vision? Because I’ve looked it up and I can’t find anywhere that has Dolby vision. I just see that it has HDR 10.

    Thanks again, buddy!

  3. A great review. In the UK Amadeus is being released in March but is available as a limited edition set to reflect its importance.

Looking forward to rewatching this classic.

    Thanks.🎉😊.

  4. If you redeem the included digital code in MoviesAnywhere it does come with the 3-hour director’s cut as one of the extras (MoviesAnywhere or iTunes). So it might not be offered on a second disc, but you still can see it, if you wanted to. At least in the USA.

  5. Awesome review John, I can't wait to receive my order! I was worried about whether the 4K scan was from the original camera negative given they spliced it up for the DC, but reading about it online it sounds like it was for the most part, with unavailable sections using 35mm interpositive as needed.

  6. The 1995 Pioneer Special Edition LaserDisc included a great audio commentary-track featuring Milos Forman and Peter Shaffer (which was carried over in re-edited form to the Director's Cut Blu-Ray), and I'm wondering if it was rights-issues which led to exclusion here (along with the "flipper" DVD's amazing isolated score-track)? Still, can't wait to finally watch this — my copy's out for delivery as I type this.

  7. One of my all time faves. So glad to finally watch the theatrical cut after being stuck with the director's cut all this time. Admittedly, Elizabeth Berridge's gozongas were spectacular, but it changes Salieri's character too much. The theatrical cut is just crafted to perfection, imo. Still, it would have been nice to include the Director's Cut, even if it was just a reissued blu-ray. I'll be holding on to my Digibook version for completionist sake but I think I'll be watching the 4K version indefinitely.

  8. After all these years
The theatrical cut returns and its great to see it back
Is the movie good overall with the theatrical and what's your thoughts on the director's cut?
