You know I lived there a short while and I’ve never people actually walk around south beach like that the way the movies like to put out there. You might get one old overweight guy wearing a thong, confident as all get out at or close to the beach entrance, you might see a stung out naked woman having a fit on a corner off of Collin’s ave, you might even see kids walking away from the direction of school and in the direction of the beach with their towels during school hours but you won’t see hot models wearing bikinis just strolling the streets and sitting at the restaurants or hanging out of the rooftop of cars. You might see gorgeous muscular men but they usually are gay. That too is a huge let down for the ladies. Don’t assume every well groomed beautiful muscular man is straight. Wait long enough and you’ll see he’s meeting up with his equally beautiful boyfriend. So yeah, tv south beach isn’t the same as regular south beach and a lot of times the ones you DO see hanging all out everywhere exposed are not even from Miami!!!! It’s some that’s visiting or just moved there and thinks south beach is what they saw in tv and so it’s ok to dress have naked only to find it’s you dressing half naked while the regular residents still dress the way any other person in other parts of the country dress during the summer.
It’s like people that live New York not caring about all the sights because they see them daily the way a tourist would care to see the famous sites. Part of Miami we see on tv is half naked girls so guys go expecting to see that all year round and girls thinking they they could get away with being half naked on south beach and they will just blend in with the native girls that already dress that way because that’s what they seen on tv only to get there and see fit the most part, they dress like everybody else down there during the summer.
