Algerian Olive Stew (Tadjin Zitoun) – Chekchouka


Today’s recipe comes right from Algeria: Olive stew a.k.a. Tadjin Zitoune (or Tadjine Zitoune if you’re all French about it).

List of ingredients for 2 portions:
– Two pieces of chicken legs
– 1 medium onion, 1 clove of garlic
– 200g of cured pitted green olives
– 200g of mushroom
– 250g of carrots
– 3 bay leaves
– Black pepper, turmeric…

  1. I personally will consider this quantity for aprox 3 or maybe 4 servings (except the chicken) so if like me you have smaller servings you can always add more chicken (for more servings) or use less olives, carrots and mushrooms
