  1. Blacks have suffered immensely from the social and racial, prejudice, economic exclusion, poor education, false teachings, injustice in the courts, poor heath care, and still are considered 3/5 of a human being in the constitution. Thus,it’s safe to say, blacks are living under the illusion of freedom, that is under threat everyday, and could possibly lead as many think today, to a 2nd civil war. That said, Lincoln definitely had no love for blacks, nor did the guilt ridden north, with some exceptions, who treated them almost as bad. New England states had its own system of slavery even before the south. New York others nearby, wasn’t a good place for blacks a native peoples. It was horrible! There were often rebellions. Lincoln’s vice president Johnson, had deep connections to the south, and hated blacks. His policies reflected this after Lincoln’s death. They wouldn’t have the war hadn’t it for blacks.

  2. I think if he would have been an abolitionist the union would never have survived, for me Americans needed such a leader at that trying moment, moreso we can see that he was a person with ability to change and had he lived in this era he could have been a more if not almost perfect being

  3. Lincoln was using political camouflage to get slavery out of America as well globally! Vatican Pope LEO 9th had Lincoln killed by Vatican guards Booth ,Surrot, and others! First Republican 1856 candidate S. Chase lost because he was straight out what he was going to do get rid of slavery etc. Lincoln was using strategy! That's why Lincoln and Kennedy were shot in head! They were too smart & out thought his enemies!

  4. I'm sorry. I live in a free country. If something evil had happened within our black history. Why can't young black people come into America politics and free black people if we are not free. I'm tired of dancing. I'm tired of not reading. I'm tired of not being married for more the 4 months. I'm tired of not buying land. Help me to understand you.

  5. As per Lincoln's proposal to send Blacks to lands outside & distant from the United States, I can only imagine that as a man of his time he as did most of the nation witnessed attitudes, policies, acts of violence,& a majority view by a white populace so very egregious in all its combined application against the Black population that this exodus appeared perhaps not the only solution, but, considering all these pitfalls, probably the best, when considering the safety & peaceful existence of the persecuted party.I am a Black man from the United States & this is my most sober opinion on the matter.People have always been subject to relate to issues according to their historical time of their existence & as such, Lincoln was subject to react according to the time he occupied life on this planet

  6. Personally I have never held Lincoln up as some great lover of the slaves….that would be foolish to think that. America was and is a culture of hate and he fit into his culture. Did he free the slaves? No he did not. It was time for the slaves to be freed. They were freed by the mighty hand of God, who used him to be the catalyst for change regardless of the reasoning. God works in evil circumstances for good, that are not spiritually discerned as to the how or even why. It was time for the slaves in America to be set free period and God moved on their behalf. I have to believe their is a purpose to all that black Americans have gone through and not only them but any group that has suffered senseless persecution at the hands of evil. To God be the glory.

  7. What must be understood is that as a black slave, being set free, it matters not why he did it, but that he did it. If I were back there do you think I would questioned why are you freeing me? I wouldn't care, but I would get away from there as fast as a bat leaves hell. Some people say he, himself, was black. Still don't matter. Only freedom matter. Peace

  8. Believe me, no one was in agreement. A lot of prejudice people existed- everywhere. But, I was talking about
politics and eggshells…you have to get in the door before you can do any good. He was clever …and that’s how he got elected. Period. otherwise nothing would have gotten done. You can say all the rest about civilians, but not about him. He was so hated that his life was in jeopardy from the minute he got elected-before he was in Washington and then even before he made his first inaugural address.
He knew from the start that his wasn’t going to live through all that. But, he did it anyway. Stop and think, then give him a morsel of credit. Thx for reading.

  9. It’s easy to see you didn’t understand the politics of 1850s onward in Illinois.
Probably the most racist state in the north. Lincoln had to navigate shark invested waters and appeal to more than just Republicans IN ORDER TO GET ELECTED. And even after that his timing was superb for getting the country on board when they were ready. Do you actually believe that in those times he would’ve been elected if he were a raving abolitionist or even a very radical republican. You take very careful steps that you don’t set off a bomb! He had to do this all the way through his political life and then especially after he was elected into an office where north and south were ready to attack any wrong word you said. He had to be clever (and he had to be extremely nice and conciliatory to people he couldn’t stand) Well, you can’t do anything, if you can’t get elected. I don’t think you understand how clever he had to be to be able to even take one step forward. Well, you appear thankless, and he’s with God now- so you can’t hurt him anymore.
When he mentioned giving the vote to those who served in the army and those who were educated ( which he would’ve changed to include everyone- as soon as possible) is when Booth (who was in the audience)
said defiantly to his friend that was with
