  1. Hey, beauties! 2. Hello megs I have a honest question for you , so I been relaxed since I was middle school age I found a routine that worked for me however, I wanted to ask what u think about the heath problem , people mention som have gotten uterus and cervix cancer from relaxers , do this worry u , or do u use a relaxer that has less harsh chemical , jst an honest question bc it scares me to want to go natural but my life so busy relax hair jst been easier.

  3. I'd love a tutorial for your bun! My hair is a mess and I'm working on taking better care of it. I've been wearing it down + clip ins forever but I'm realizing how I'm just damaging my hair. I need a cute and easy style for going out now.

  4. I recently had a set back because my stylist was no listening to me. She has tried products on my hair that don't mesh well on my relaxed hair. And also kept choosing not to relax the font part of my hair because she felt like it did not need it. Well because of the 2 different textures I had breakage on the area. I tried to hard to make it smooth so it meshed well with my relaxed hair. if she just would have relaxed it I would not have had that problem. Needless to say after all these years I may need to find a new stylist.

  5. Hay megz im natural but i want to go back relax im afraid because they saying that relaxer is not healthy and hurting women so what kind of relaxer are u using what do u suggest

  6. Yes we want the bun tutorial. Also what I see is you are doing the LCO method back in the days. I am in the same pattern, I will re do it ! Thank you of sharing your hair regimen!

  7. My hair is very long, but I noticed that it sheds alot and just will not get to that luster I had in high school when I use to watch you back in the day.

I think all of our problem is we strayed away from that old school thing – the grease, the simple shampoo and conditioner. Even more heat was good for us. Kept the tangles away.

We all tried to go natural, use less heat, and skip the mineral oils and parabens – things that in a real way worked for us.

We ALSO aren't eating what's in our parents house anymore. Back then – I ate breakfast lunch and dinner and had more meat. For years now, I've been intermittent fasting, disordered eating, eating once a day ect. We need go back to "mama and daddy" meals, and that good reliable sleep schedule and that old pink moisture and ors products…. we were all fixing what wasn't broken.

Listening to others and not staying in our own lane

  8. I have the same issue as you. My hair is fuller on top ,but the ends are thinned out. The density has changed. I am doing protein treatments as well and keeping hair moisturized and sealed.

  9. I’ve been following you for so long girl I feel like I’ve grown up with you and your hair looks great. I miss your voice it’s been a while since I’ve watched videos And happy to be back.

  10. Yes Meg let’s take it back because the old routine/products helped my hair starting back in 2010 watching you. Then I started using other products or distracted from my routine (neglecting my hair) and my hair haven’t been that healthy since. Let’s take it back to the VO5/ORS days😂😂😂 challenge accepted

  11. Hey Megz, Thanks for sharing girl. Your hair is coming along nicely. Right now I’m trying to rebuild my hair again. Like you I never had a problem with length especially in the back but my front always needed a little more TLC 😊and right at the crown (or my mother use to say back in the day you Soft Spot). I transitioned and did a chop to natural back in 2014 so it will be 10yrs this October 30th. My hair flourished once I got my routine together and grew as normal. Then I had a small set back in 2018 then did fine up until somewhere in 2022 (Life was Life-in 😅) and I began blowing my hair out, wearing braids ect.. and now I here 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️So I’ve too been reverting back to older methods and I’m slowly (key word Slowly) lol coming along but it’s gonna be a longer road and not to mention I’m older too LMBOOOO so my hair and texture is different.. WHEW that was a lot lol.. Thanks again for sharing 💞

  12. Omg…Megz you are a strong woman. I trust God that all these things, you are going through will be well. Don't lose hope dear and also commit everything you use first into God's hands…

  13. Girl, I started going back to your old videos and others a while ago 😂. That old school YT, back to basics 😂

It crazy that sooo many of us are experiencing/experienced the same hair issues, starting around the same time 😳

The comments are so helpful b/c I didn’t even consider me stopping my daily vitamins pairs up with the massive shedding 😩 requesting bloodwork on my annual visit.

  14. I want my hair density to improve. I am getting growth, but lacking in density. I will take density over growth right now. I am natural but i still follow you megz. Been watching you for over a decade now. Whether you are relaxed and when you were even natural. Please keep posting your every move about your hair density journey and tips. Thank You So Much for Posting this !!!

  15. Very good content, your regimen reminds me so much of my own with the co-wash, DC, and wash day routine…when you did a 2 strand twist then twisted it up which is exactly what I do I knew that I'm moving in the right direction with my hair journey; we will journey-on together LOL Thanks for sharing!

  16. Hi megz , I have been natural for 7 years and you’re actually one of the first relaxed/naturals that I started following from when I was 11 (I am turning 21 next month!) , through trial and error, being redirected by the community at least a 57 times 😂 I have found that simplicity is absolutely key, I had your exact problems but with natural hair. I chopped off my hair 3 times after having grown my choppy 4c hair to my mid back, I was proud but not satisfied because as you say, our roots look promising and there’s no problem with length but the density just isn’t there. After following the no oil / no butter and turning to becoming a blow dried natural as a last resort, I actually l learnt about the integrity of hair. Meaning, that after all those years, paying attention to detail and everything, I was STILL unintentionally breaking my hair, leaving my roots normal and my length compromised. I fixed my deficiencies throughout the years but my hair wasn’t improving until I understood, growing denser hair that has a consistent density from root to tip , is about maintaining the integrity of the hair. Now my hair is turning into the hair of my dreams, of which I always seen the roots to have this potential, it was just an obstacle of understanding. Hair needs hydration and moisture, the hydration on wash day is enough to last at least a week if you seal it in properly with a lipid rich substance (butters, grease, oils) , then just put it in some plaits, focusing extra butter/grease on the ends to ensure ends don’t tangle. Some grease on the scalp that will trickle down the strands throughout the week to relubricate. This was the routine most of us (well not me) had as a kid and had flourishing plaits. This type of hair care, oils/butter/grease + plaits is / was found in all cultures, wether it was Victorian women with greasy plaits and updos, Indians heavily oiling and massaging, then plaiting the hair, Ethiopians smothering their hair in butter and wearing plaits, or the now popular Chadian women with greased up plaits, Ghanaians and Nigerians with Shea butter and threading/braids etc , the next important factor is time. Leave hair as is until it is wash day again to get your hair back up at 100% moisture and 100% hydration 🙂

My new growth has been shooting out the past 6 months and my dyed hair is rapidly elongating and becoming darker after this epiphany, I allow my hair to be now, I went from weekly washing to every 2-3 weeks. You’re in the right direction 🩷
