Why don't you take advantage of the new policy for foreigners in China where they can visit for 144 hours (6 days) withouta visa? Since the top-end hotel brands had their best property in China. For example, the Park Hyatt in Suzhou easily beat PH NYC by a mile. And it only costs 200-250USD per night. Like in China, for the money I spent one night in the Hyatt regency in Chicago can buy me a stay at PH Shanghai at one of the highest building in the world.
Qantas livery since 1984, slightly refreshed in 2007
As others have said the 787 is susceptible to paint chips on the wings. Didn’t know that either until last October when I rode on a LATAM 787 AKL-SYD… its wings were probably missing about half of their paint 😅 definitely threw me off guard
That's pretty shameful that the flight arrived a whopping 9 minutes late. I hope you received a thousand pardons (jokes!). Regarding the liveries, I would throw in Singapore Airlines for having a classic, timeless livery that has been around for several decades. Thank you for another great video!
Lovely filming – not sure why anyone would expect many amenities on a Japanese domestic flight though, unless you pay for premium service up front. Japanese domestic flights, especially between major cities, are timed, priced, and outfitted to basically compete with shinkansen service.
Well re the long-lived livery question… I guess AIR CHINA? (Although it DOES feel dated lol
China southern used the same livery since 1988, debuted on Boeing 737-200 or 757-200. And the livery has no any little update
What a terrible passenger experience in that cramped 787. Boeing have used the same flaps system since the 1960’s 777
Not related but some news: Jetblue plans to add a domestic first class but plans to reduce pitch in coach from 32 inches to 30 inches. Which is very sad!
You found out the difference between ANA’s regional 787’s and the long haul ones . I had one between bkk and nrt. Miserable compared to the one from Seattle to Tokyo.
Peeling paint is no worry. You see this a lot on QR/EK/ET due to sun. Some types are more prone than others as mentioned by another commenter.
Thanks for the info + video!
Another great video. Thanks Kevin!
If you want to talk about airline liveries that hasn't changed all that much since the 80's, you gotta include Singapore Airlines along with ANA. Yes, like ANA, SQ has made subtle changes to their airline livery over the years, but its fundamentally more or less the same airline livery it was in the 80's. Its one of the few major airlines today to still retain a "cheatline". As for peeling paint, shrugs, yes not aesthically pleasing, but not really a safety issue, so not really such a big issue in my opinion. As for tight legroom, true, but honestly what do you expect on a short-haul domestic flight where they have to pack in the passenger volume to maximize efficiency and revenue? Just be thankful you don't have to endure that for a long-haul flight. 🙂
Philippine Airlines livery is the oldest as well. 05:24
Thank You ✈️
Khun Flip Flop San really puts Fuku in Fukuoka
I have really enjoyed this Japan series. Thanks you Kevin.
Honestly, your cinematics is one of the best of all travellors youtubers. The attention to details, the choreography, the music selection, the in-coming animation windows [concised]. I thoroughly enjoyed your reviews. Looking forward to more of your videos
First of all, your tour is absolutely not fair. A friend of mine flew into Tokyo from the south and told.me about that approach so when I did it the next year, I was hoping to see it. I say rain clouds. Second, yes the pealing paint is normal and safe, but not desirable. While composite wing panels have been around for decades the 787 and A350 use carbon fiber for their wings and the paint doesnt adhere well to the wings. I suspect the 777X will have the same issue when its around 10 years old although i did hear that they had found a better formulation.
JAL is pronounced lika JA-l, not JAY-ay-el. On the other hand, ANA is pronounced like AY-en-ay.
Great video. Agreed on a bit letdown by ANA domestic economy. Flew HND-ITM last month on the 772 and the seats were so hard and small. JAL is much better domestically
The music in yourJapan series vids is quite tasteful. In this vid I think I heard some koto. I also think I saw the Sky Tree earlier on the approach to HND. Thx!
With the waving off of the JAL A350, may have been a dignitary on board, rock star, retiring captain, new flight number.
10:05 perhaps since ANA own a piece of PAL, they asked PAL to refurb the paint job on this airplane supervised by PAL’s lazy purser so they did a hack job since the lazy purser is nowhere to be seen to supervise 😂
Always until the end!
Mumbai to Delhi on… I would have said Air India, but it's missing a letter? Can't find another airline or train that fits either 🤔
Japanese people are much smaller than most westerners.
