  17. I love how those that support Gaddafi are so in love with him and think he was so great that they all hide their names and faces online. Gaddafi nationalized all private property. He gave people homes that were stolen from their rightful owners without compensation. He killed students for voicing their views. He hung them during Ramadan and made people drive by and see them hanging from light posts,

    He didn’t give anyone 50 thousand dollars for getting married. He didn’t give 5 thousand per child. Electricity was not free, everyone was just stealing it like they still are today. Hospitals were so miserable that people had to leave the country for medical treatment. Many people died waiting for permission to leave the country. He literally wasted billions of dollars on fringe and paramilitary groups while running Libya like an open air prison.

    Even the Great Man Made River was a project that was started under the King and it took Gaddafi 20 years to actually continue the project. Only 3 of the 5 phases were completed by the time the 2011 Revolution started. Gaddafi emptied the prisons during the 2011 Revolution and let loose all the murders and thieves and gangsters. His old followers still occupy positions in all the ministries and embassies. They have literally stolen billions of dollars of Libya’s money. They burned police stations and records offices so they can hide their past crimes and forge land deeds and illegally occupy and sell land that is not theirs. They bombed schools with school children inside and the police academy of young cadets to cause more chaos to keep stealing.

    What we see today is a consequence of 42 years of Gaddafi rule and abuse.

    Before that the King took what little money that was coming into the country and invested in education and healthcare. We went from 3 percent literacy to over 70 percent in just 18 years. Libya was the top of fastest growing nations and all the socioeconomic measures of the time. The King’s policies were so successful that Libya continued to grow well into the mid 1970’s when 1 Libyan Dinar = 3 US Dollars. Then Gaddafi started replacing educated Libyans with his own thugs and the country started to decline for decades.

    The facts in this video are simply wrong regarding the Kingdom and Gaddafi. And what’s worse is that people are repeating Gaddafi propaganda because they either don’t know better or were one of his followers that made life for Libyans hell.

    And one more thing – Omar Mukhtar was a great man but he didn’t lead the resistance, the Senussi Order did. Omar Mukhtar was a teacher and then a resistance leader under the Senussia. King Idris Senussi picked up where his uncle Ahmad Shariff Senussi left off in leading the movement and gaining support of the British against the Italians and Germans in World War II. You’re talking about a man that literally created an Independent Libya, the first nation to be granted independence from the United Nations. A weak leader couldn’t do such a thing.

    Why would Libyans overthrow Gaddafi if he was a pretty good leader?

    Unlike the king that the masses loved but the US hated therfore made a coup

Was very good video until the part of Kingdom and Gaddafi , the king wasn't corrupt but the Oil was discovered lately and the country building just was launched , but Gaddafi wasted 35 years in wars and embargo and the buildindg started in the last 5 years of his Era and than the so called revolution came
