There is a fundamental matter Prof Utomi in this discsourse, that is 'the people'. Prof should the concept of 'people' to ask whether there is a Nigerian People. How do you create a brand new people, this will certainly take eternity. My take on this issue is that Nigeria can only emerge with what Adolf Hiter calls the world historic leader

Sometimes, I wonder whether these eggheads are so blind to the truth or whether they are complicit … they recalled when Nigeria was so great and then suddenly everything changed. Are they truly ignorant of what happened? The problem was not directly the politicians. The West saw things were going so well with us that they had to change the government and put in rulers who were willing to protect their interests. Our natural resources are being plundered and exported abroad and processed goods are sold back to us. Unless we have leaders who have the political will to resist the West, Nigeria can never be great! Imagine a country like ours where Naira had more value than the dollar until IMF and World Bank etc came and put in their agents. Utomi and Obi are too pro West to see what is really happening.

😂😂😂😂prof you are part of the past. You have being in the corridors of power since 1980. Prof you are so far from a common Nigeria because ur friends are all elites so you dont knw exactly how Nigerians feels. Nigeria will never work with this present structure of pple with different value system forcibly brought together to call them a country. The country needs to split to be able to develop because we are nations forced to be together and called a country. The speaker of Niger state house of assembly decided to give orphans out in marriage as a constituency project and even professors in the north supported it while some pple in the south are revolting about it. It shows the country can not function at all. We need to create a home grown system to demarcate every part of the country where pple create their laws and respect that. Why are we forcing ourselves to live under this criminal system? Smaller countries are functioning more than us and we insist we want to be big country and since then we are big for nothing. Benin republic is functioning, Senegal is functioning. The diversity is too much and it can never work. Only sowore is the person who can change things but the core north will never allow him come closer because he doesnt talk religion. I am waiting the day Nigeria will explode though it will be disastrous but it will happen if we fail to do it peacefully.

Utomi likes to run his mouth, looking for political savior who will allegedly give his dumbass political appointment. Last week, we had Governor Diri of Bayesla state at Houston, USA calling for resource control where like their Elders always join and vote for Northern dominated feudal party that will never allow them to control their resources. Like their Elders, they talk with both mouths. We remember when the Southwest people begged Benue and Plateau elders like latesTarka and Unogoh to support Chief Awolowo, but the refused and joined the core Northern dominated feudal party, now their people are being displaced and killed by the herders who are the grassroot supporters of this Northern party they supported and voted for. Now, Obi is visiting Atiku, Lamido, and Saraki, these people will never allow him to be a presidential candidate of any formed mega party. They love to offer the Southeast number 2 position, never number 1. Obi, please don't sell the hope and aspirations of millions of people who look at you as their leader and number 1 position candidate. They will never forgive you if you allow yourself to be talk into accepting number 2 spot. You deserve better. Your pre-condition to join them should be number 1spot or to your tent, O' Israel.

If the country is to do away with the current politicians in the country, the Professor unfortunately will be one of them because he has not made a difference in politics as he has done in the educating the business leaders in the country. It is a misplaced priority for him to think that he can achieve what politics should be in Nigeria. Forming a mega party will only lead to wining an election but not necessarily any home of changing the situation in the country overnight. The current administration emerged out of a mega party that promised exactly what the professor has in mind. The mega party was set up just exactly for the same purpose to take the party that was in power at that time and not necessarily to move the country forward. The reason why the change did not make any difference was because it is the same old politician drawn from different political parties that have not changed the situation in the country that formed the mega party now APC. The mentality of all politicians in Nigeria is the same, therefore I am not sure what the difference it would make if all the political parties but the current ruling that took part in the last election come together to form a mega party, it will still be the something if they happen to win. What the professor ought to be agitating is reducing the number of political parties in Nigeria to three which will bringing about a compulsory realignment of all the citizen to a party of their choice. The three major party must state clearly their ideologies that would make the citizen identify themselves with the party. The professor just left the United States and he has been visiting the country for many years and he knows that it is practically impossible for a candidate who is running as Independent to win a presidential election in the United States. Americans are either republicans or democrats and all of these party take the country and the citizen first and no personal interest. No politician in the United States is in politics for self interest but to serve the people and the nation. This what the Professor should be educating Nigerian politicians about an not agitating a mega party whose main interest is to take the opponent out of office just for the sake of replacing them with no mindset change. The idea of a mega is just addressing the surface of the problem without the route cause. The risk is that if the current administration is able to solve some of the major problems of Nigeria and citizen begin to see a change in their lives, the idea of a mega party in 2027 will be in vain. If you use the same approach of a mega party APC used to come to power and such move in 2027 will not yield any different result for Nigerians.

A mega party can't get us out of the quick sand into which we have sunk in Nigeria. Those who emerge as leaders of the mega party will immediately become replicas of the old brigade. The country needs to be broken up into much smaller manageable units. Our heterogeneity is not helping us at all.

The Nigerians make up all the process and layers of a political system.
A party is formed-the party provides a platform to vie for political office – nominees of the political parties compete for offices – they get elected – occupy offices, both Executive and Parliament- they are all Nigerians‼️
The only consistency is the Rule of Law. It has failed Nigeria and Nigerians‼️ (mores, culture, values are not enough, they are subjective, not legal!)…..

    Fantastic Introduction:

“Before the Leaders of this country stole the future, and things become incredibly paralyzed, there was a time in the 60’s and 70’s that Nigerians felt confident in their future.
The people were getting wealthier, a bit like watching your house increase in value everyday. There was a lot of money floating around and people with interesting ideas could get them off the ground. And Nigerians were able to indulge their desires.

On a Salary of N3,000 a month, an equivalent of $3,000 dollars at the time, a family of four could take a holiday to the Europe once a year and could afford two cars 🚗

By the 80’s all that had become fantasyland. The value of the Naira had plummeted. The money seem to run out and everybody was forced to tighten their belt. Life suddenly stopped being good and is been downhill ever since.

What went so wrong in Nigeria. Why did that rise of the 60’s and 70’s ultimately fall and can this proposed mega merger of opposition parties recreate that era of meteoric economic growth?”

Nigeria problem is not just the Federal /State/Loca government but our individual citizens. Most of those who are complaining are only waiting for their turn to steal. We need a total different mindset and strict rules of law and attitude to our daily activities.

What ever efforts that is being made will amount to nothing unless INEC is checkmated and made truely independent. As long as they can rig the election all your efforts are in futility. There should be a way to make it impossible for INEC to take sides and rig the election in favor of any party or person.

Thank you Mr. Utomi for your vision but it would be nice if it is realistic in a place called Nigeria. Nigeria unfortunately is a state run from the outside by her enemies. Those so called politicians are nothing but puppets of Berlin conference originators. This is the reasons they appeared completely useless. The blueprint they use come from across the Mediterranean and it was designed for our destructions. For your dreams to be a reality the current agenda will have to be dislodged sending ANGLOFULANIS, All so called Politicians, so called Elites and the so called ruling class into the Atlantic. It is a hard job for freedom to reign.
