Join me on a very strange flight on Africa’s only first class on TAAG Angola Airlines’ 777 from their hub in Luanda, Angola to São Paulo, Brazil. Let me know your thoughts on TAAG, their first class product, and the future of the African aviation market.

  1. Actually the date that marks Angola’s independence from Portugal is the 11th of November, not the 4th of February that is concerned with an uprising that took place in 1961 that then led to the colonial war fought between the Portuguese army and the Angolan forces that wanted their country to become an independent nation ✌️

  2. I cannot wait to move to Africa and travel more in the southern Hemisphere. Ethiopian is Africa's giant by miles and I swear every month they're adding new destinations. I have family in Luanda and Benguela so I will look forward to flying TAAG when I next visit, hopefully in their new airplanes

  3. Just flew TAAG from Sao Paolo to Luanda yesterday…..wow!!!Definitely the worst flight I have ever taken.Miserable crew,777 300er that should not be flying.Horrible condition.Entertainment system not working. As the flight was very empty,Pretty much had unlimited choice where to sit. They decided to lock most of the toilets. The remaining ones were filthy. Will be avoiding TAAG in the future.

  4. Dear Patrick , I just started follow you. I am extremely impressed with yours amazing informations. You cover from political do economical comments about the countries and airlines. This is really a great pleasure watch your videos. I got delighted. Please continue with your terrific dedication and quality. I wish you all the best 😀

  5. It’s funny, I left a negative comment on this video, for some reason, after watching another video regarding how bad were most African airlines, I disagree with that and left that comment on your video, I apologize, obviously deleted the comment after I realized my mistake. Sorry. This is a great video and i think it is Ok to give a try this airline and another one too, leaving a honest review definitely help the airline to correct their weaknesses and become a better competitor with other better airlines. I also subscribed to your channel.

  6. Wait the outlets did not work properly so you moved to an empty seat as a paying customer and they had the Pilot reprimand you??? This is a joke NO??? How Dare they not appreciate you as a VIP Passenger. Cracked window, safety video issue, dont film the food in the lounge WTF

  7. Angola became Independent from Portugal in 15/01/1975 and not in 1973 as you mention.
Fun fact: Taag was banned to fly to Europe from 2007 until 2010,and you wonder why?!!!!
Remember the broken window that you mention. What is the problem with a Crack Window on a Comercial Boeing 777 when the other 323 Windows are ok.
My friend, that's how Angola works.
    Unfortunably for their poor people.

  8. Yuck! This is horrible!!! I don’t mean your video. I mean the horrendous service. Yuck! Yuck! I’d be so pissed.

You are so graceful explaining the mediocre service. My 2 hours flight from Bali to Jakarta on Geruda was better. I’d be in a bad mood if I were you. 😹

    Cheers,
    Jennifer

  9. It is a first class for the corrupt Angolan politicians. The tender to build the airpor have bribery cases taking place with the support from Brazilian president.

  10. Great video! Frustrating to hear about your lecture from the TAAG crew. You are not the first YouTuber to have this issue. I think this is a bit of a hangover from the civil war days (1975-2002). There seems to be a general, residual paranoia around cameras and an overall bureaucratic attitude of needing permits for everything. My friend and I were arrested, jailed and almost deported on a kayaking trip there in 2016 because Angolan security forces thought we were using our filming gear to spy on a hydroelectric installation on the Kwanza River! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIfnrQJVDVo

Small correction: Aeroporto Internacional 4 de Fevereiro is not named after Angola's independence date (which is 11 November). It actually commemorates the start of their armed uprising against Portuguese colonial rule in 1961: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angolan_War_of_Independence

  11. I am Angolan and i have flown with TAAG multiple times in business as well as economy class on international and local flights. The service you received in first class is appalling and as im Angolan i feel you have been robbed. I flew in Business from Luanda to Lisbon, and i had to stand in a queue for boarding with other economy passenger with no priority boarding, the crew were very arrogant and i had to raise my voice to get some attention from them. TAAG needs to improve their customer service if they want to compete against SAA or Ethiopian. The locals flights are the worse… multiple cancellations without prior notice, delays without any information etc… TAAG needs an urgent revamp.
