It's not "Le Bleu", it's "Bleu de Chanel"
Awesome video, thanks Matt 🙏
The razor sounds interesting. Still enjoying my Solo Edge, very different type of single edge blade apparently (half DE).
Love the cricket sound 🤍
Parker definitely did a good job with their injector razor.
Thank you so much for posting this excellent video. I am going to have to try Stirling soaps. I like that they also have a coffee shop at their location — I have never visited them, mind you. I'm not really interested in injector razors, but I have to admit that this one gave you a pretty good shave.
I love Stirling soaps. Been using them for many many years. My favorites are coniferous in the fall and island man in the summer. Sharp dressed man and executive man year round.
I am a DE shaver by heart…30+ years…and have three single edge razors in my shaving cabinet. I use the single edge for those times where I am in a hurry and need a quick shave. The one I have had the longest is the Parker Adjustable you have there. I also have the Supply w/ adjustable heads, bought the SE head for it as well, and the Leaf Twig. The Twig has the "advantage" of being able to use a DE blade…broken in half…which means in theory you can get the kind of shave you prefer from your fav brand of DE blade. In theory, because I found that my Gillettes, my Edwin Jaggers, my Parkers, my Merkurs and yes…my Razor Emporium…perform much better with my Bolzano blades. The Twig is neat, but my last choice. My first choice is the Supply. Weird thing? I use the Parker SE blades in my Supply. The Parker razor is solid…extremely lightweight…but seems well built and love the ability to control the aggression around my neck area as well. Btw, Stirling discontinued my favorite of their soaps…Stirling Spice…and haven't bought Stirling since that occurred. Maybe I will try the Deep Blue Sea!
I use the sample pucks. I like “Texas on Fire” and “Barbour Shop” the best thus far. I started wet shaving with the double edge safety razor from Razor Emporium. They sent it with Proraso tube soap. I then found Stirling and ordered the 5 pucks which lasted me a year. It took me a few shaves to figure out the amount of water needed for a great shave. The Stirling soap is a great lather and the shave is wonderful. They also have seasonal soaps as well, the “Apple Spice” and the “Pumpkin” as well. I think the Tallow is the key. I’m a customer for life at this point.
Nag Champa by Stirling is amazing. Performance..Scent…Price…Wow.
CAMPANIA!
Sweet video Matt!!
I bought this as a travel razor. I couldn't get it to shave. I left it in my hotel room after the third trip with it. There are far, far better SE razors on the market. Also, any vintage injector would be a better razor.
Nice shave, Matt! I love Stirling. I have several tubs and a couple of aftershave splashes. I really enjoy Coniferous and Satsuma. I also like Eucalyptus Mint and Gin & Tonic. I am a bowl lather for the most part. I enjoy the process of building my lather in the bowl. Stirling builds a thick, creamy lather, but it is definitely a thirsty soap. We also have hard water here which doesn't help.
The best way to get rid of the cricket would be to borrow someone's pet chicken. I love Stirling products, but your 1955 and 1966 are just as good.
@RazorEmporium
Hey Matt,
That Parker looks like a PAL adjustable to me. The M-Type Schick had a round knurled knob.
Great lather in no time at all. Never tried a SE injector, more Vintage Gillette old shaver 😂.
Funny enough, I shaved with Stirling for first time yesterday. Used their Barbershop soap – good stuff!
Cheers!
Why would someone buy a cream vs soap? Would both be worth it for certain people? Would the be both cost effective? What is your take on choosing either?
I can't shave everyday. I get Irritation and skin burn. I've tried and it hurts my skin, so I wait like 3 to 5 days of growth and then shave works very well for me.
Honestly I will probably never buy the Parker adjustable because I have the Schick adjustable and other vintage Schick's and enjoy the nostalgia of those razors. But Sterling makes some great soaps with some wonderful scents. As always, thanks for what you do for the wet shaving community Matt. Shave on and stay smooth. 73
All summer I use a Glacial Stirling soap. The menthol is relatively strong so I feel refreshed for about an hour after the shave. Great lather. I'm using the Lemon Chill right now.
Matt, what’s the Brush?
Great shave Matt! Stirling is one of my favorite soap artisans 👍🏾😎 Great products at affordable prices! Tons of scents but my favorite is gotta be “Barbershop” 💈
