  1. what i have found interesting is this dad was cut off by his son when DAD WAS 56 YEARS. at 57, 58, 59 son wasn't talking to him. and dad had no light bulb going off in his head to do something for retirement.

  2. I’m in the US and black parents don’t pay school fees. If your parents sold something to send you to school then you’ve already spent your inheritance and their retirement plan. I wished my parents had paid University fees! We get life from our parents and that’s it. Lol They still expect to get help later in life. I’m not saying give until you have nothing but if there is something you have then by all means help your parents. Now, parents forcing help for siblings is wrong and do not do that! It’s crippling to your own well being and you most likely will not get that back. When I met my fiancé I told him upfront that I wanted to help my mom and his but we must set an amount that covers life fees and no more. Do not extend that to cousins and fees and siblings etc. unless they have done the same for you.

  3. Most African homes are traumatic, they don't know how to express love. Some believe just paying school fees and cursing them is part of tough love. It isn't. Thanks to the Internet and fluid information. This generation knows better.

  4. Children are not your meal ticket. Having children is your responsibility to take care of them. Train your children in the ways of the Lord so that when they are old they will not depart from you. To honour your parents doesn't mean sending monthly payments. It means living your life with respect to not bring shame. Some parents bullied, abused, constantly abuse their kids and disrespect them till adulthood and not even been there do them when they need them but except money when they are old. They forget that the words said affects the child and they never forget…..

  5. I live in Germany and thats normal here. Even if you never had contact to your parents, the German government will automatically make you pay for their upkeep. I am kenyan. I support the father and mother.

  6. Gm , I like your videos you are on point lol , I don't know too much about Nigeria or Africa I watched the movies from the village in Nigeria it makes me understand more about what you are saying, but I want to know if they send money to their relatives thru western union or money gram there are proofs that you sent them money, am I right?

  7. Maybe it's the level of poverty in Africa that causes this. I have a young cousin that is a government worker being owed about 4 months of salary, complaining of not being paid on time and he is on his 4th child!
Please my people, born as many kids as you can take care of while you save for your own future! The world is changing, cost of living is high and an average young adult has many bills to take care of themselves.
Some even go as far as saying they have many children because they don't know which one will take care of them in future, like playing hit or miss. Why not have 1 or 2 kids so you can focus on yourself as you raise them.

  8. Ye Nollyhood should make a movey based on these story's , ND also include lifestyle of children working abroad, those who venture in2 dubious stuff just to make it splash money's etc. Maybe this will help both parents, friends ND children

  9. Adding onto Wide Maya being good son who does so much for his mom, Kudos Bless him. Also Kenyan u tuber Marwa is trying for his fam. He taught his Sister ND Brother to do ND join utubing, bought his sis her 1st camera to start u tubing and he has built his parents a good quality House in the village. These guyz are trying and am sure many children would like to do the same but not all children are bouyant, some make it but some don t. My prayer is for all children worldwide to make it in life.

  10. How does one give love ND perfect training to their children when they themselves were raised in homes ND orphanages(talking about older generations who never had exposure which is out there new generations)

  11. Hey Mr. Blogger. That Father is absolutely WRONG. WE MAKE SURE OUR children get the best Education. With no stings attached ( my disclaimer, ). Thats why wives are treated soooooooo mmmm unfairly because of in laws, being" cum mu. cu mu " translation, glutinous. Blah Blah Blah to put it nicely. Yea.

  12. I lived in Sudan and a maids mother was sick. She left her country and was 15 yrs old. Her mother needed a surgery but her dad said ahe gonna die just send me the money so I can get married. Her brother and her together cried in the courtyard of the house.

  13. If you only read African literature you will always think that there is a great cultural divide on these issues: the west verses africa. It is a myth. I can assure people here that many europeans grapple with this same issue. So to argue that this is "unafrican" is too simplistic. No single race sat down and decided that they will not assist their parents. Life is based on personal choice, not mob psychology.

  14. I only seek help from my son only when I have no other options. He always comes thru for me and In his forty six years of life he has never asked me for money.

  15. Hey Phrankleen. I subscribed after listening for some time..kinda like testing the spirit😊Bro u are sound. I can relate to a lot of these things. I am from the Caribbean ans my partner is Nigerian..a Yoruba man. I pray him.up and open his eyes and credit to him he sees it for what it is with his relatives in Naija so he is no longer feeling guilty with all that emotional blackmail and backward thinking they impose.

  16. Children get into serious troubles trying to please their parents, some were caught with drugs and hanged. I got into trouble trying to please my mother, I've stole seeking her validation until I couldn't take it anymore , I cut her off the smear campaign started. I remember someday I needed help to buy property that was going to help me if rented out,I asked her for the small amount after j explained how this will help, she was lazy to go to the bank. I would promise to make things for her some I wasn't successful, last time I spoke to her she mentioned all I ddnt make for her and forgot all I did, how I promised to put my younger brother in a private school and I ddnt, infront of my brother she said I abused my brother when he was young by doing all these promises and shouting at him when he does wrong, I replied 'you put me in a position of being a parent when I was young and I took your responsibility, that is why u look good in my brothers eyes and I'm the evil one, if he was raised by u he would have seen the kind of a person that u are. After she lied to my brother about me , I said brother she's yours now, you are going to be her therapist, watch how many people u will lose because she simply doesn't care about you too, if she cared she would have tried to bring peace between us her children instead of talking so badly about me to u. My brother is 26 I'm done with my mother, and I don't want my child near her, my brother may hate me now but one day he will understand what I went through. I have a great partner. I am a South African

  17. My Son's would give me anything I ask for because they LOVE me and understand all the hard work that was done to help make them the successful ppl they are today. They are not obligated in any manner. It's so good to know that they love me enough to do nice things for me. They aren't my ATM.

  18. Entitlement is the problem. Crypto is high risk. Can make and can also lose large chunks in short space of time. I personally would not put my money into it as investments. I do real estate and funds.

  19. If the guy is able to give his Dad some allowances every month, NO PROBLEM but if he cannot, he should say NO.
We have so much to learn and unlearn in Africa. Let´s hope one day we are able to change our mindset.

  20. Prankleen I beg , please cover this nonsense £2,300 charge for Nigerian British citizens forced to pay to come back to the uk and stay in the c0vid facility; while visiting Nigeria before they were put on the red list🙏🏽

  21. In the West and some Asian countries like Iran, the govt fund our children Education via bursaries / loans and demand repayment only IF the person begins to earn a certain amount, IF they cannot, the govt write it off why would a parent peg a % on XYZ amount on children whom they cause their birth?

  22. When I hear all these stories about African parents. I wonder what their definition of "Children are a blessing from God" means to them. Is it attached with materialism or what.

  23. My dad's recently retired, still taking care of a bulk of my siblings expenses even though they have graduated because of the condition of the country.
Though I'm still in university, I do help out with small things and small tokens of gratitude, my eldest sisters do the same things. We know my parents are always there to give an helping hand and we are grateful for this and try to show gratitude in the little ways we can.

  24. How about, giving birth then giving my kids the basic necessity while I work on my retirement.Life is not easy. There is some kind of expectations when you give everything you have to your kids. Our generation feels so entitled.I believe the man was frustrated.Thats why he went to court.

  25. Have you ask if the other three children went to school? Some parents will let the other children work to educate this one child. They do that thinking after his education, they will be able to help them at their old age. Most parents don't need there riches, but just help them when they need it. In African this is what we do.. It's rather painful when he might be leaving a luxurious life and forget everything they did for him.
