Double rifle is always best for big game.
I had the great pleasure of a Zambezi Delta Safari with Pun Van Zyl and Mark Haldine. I was only after Cape Buffalo and after an awesome hunt, dropping my big buffalo in its tracks, Pun, Gorie and I collected 7 Reed buck for the villagers. The rest of my hunt Mark arranged for me to fly around with Craig Boddington in one of Marks helicopters as Craig filmed the lions, Nyala, Sable, Buffalo and other wildlife on the delta. If your like me and only going to do one safari in your life, do it with Zambezi Delta Safaris.
Some true professionals commenting here. Best you gun and hunting masters stay home on your key boards and keep your snowflake spines away from what is African big game hunting. If you don't know that over the shoulder is the way you carry a double rifle, your opinion is worth less than the time you took to type your nonsense gall. And if your grand mother also started with a 400/450 you should really go borrow her spine as she has/had a stronger one than you.
From Zimbábue to Tanzania, South África to Sudan, I never ever see a Big Bull drope in hia feet with onde shot.

Hunted Buff with Zambeze delta safaris and Poen Van Zyl in late Nov 23. Can’t recommend them highly enough! Coutada 11 is an absolute paradise, with game numbers that I can’t believe still exist in Africa. Poen is a consummate professional, and a great guy to hunt with! Just bought a 450/400 for my return trip😉
