Some African Americans are claiming not to be African but I can see twerking. The masquerades exist in some of the Caribbean Islands. In my mother's Island they are called Jam Bulls.
Great stuff…
I am sick and tired of African people talk about ancient African dances and culture and then throwing God God does not exist in the African mind of the ancestors was the ancestors We never started talking about God and God's until degrees in neuromas created it in conquered us you cannot sit up here and talk about ancient culture of Africa and leave out the ancestors you are disrespecting your ancestors learn your history before you try to talk about it
Don't care….
I see the Coming to America movies used the Bata dance for the wedding scenes. Interesting. So basically Zamunda is Yoruba land
Authentication is mixed with aultracation. Pls do a great research for perfect representation
feels like millenials doing a dumbed down show maybe mate
but then its only snippets
listening to a millenial man talking is the most important thing for a video entitled about dance
do things NOT suck now mate?
maybe i justr wanted to see if i can maybe enjoy a dance watching
and not have to listen to millenials for maybe once mate
9,5,4,3,2 and 1 are Igbos, however other tribes here do 1 too
You barely touched it, when I tell people Nigerian 🇳🇬 culture is the most beautiful and diverse, just like Nigerian food it’s an understatement. Over 500 languages and over 300 tribes in one country and you want to compete 😊🤣 not possible.

Egedege is also Igbo – popularized by the " Queen Mother" Theresa Onuorah and her Cultural Dancers of Unubi. Nigeria is an ocean of cultures and traditions. You will need to devote a year of your program to do justice to the most amazing dances in Nigeria. I can understand the concern of any one who felt that the Igbo was over represented in this piece. I don't think that was the intention of the producer. The Igbo daces featured here; though top notch, are only a tip of the iceberg. The numerous dance steps and rythyms of the Igbos in the delta and riverine areas were not even touched. But truth be told, it will be very difficult for any neutral, objective and honest observer to analyze any facet of Nigerian live except politics at the highest levels; in which the Igbo will not dominate. As you saw, the presenter didn't even know that some of those dances are of Igbo – a purely neutral observer not colored by " Federal character" and the "State of Origin"
Great presentation my brother. Please make out more time to explore the remaining amazing dances of other parts of Nigeria and the rest of Africa. You have my subscription.
Such beautiful dancing outfits…. 😊
You see a video and don't watch it on time, instant regret, this video is well put together, informative and beautiful. Thank you very much.
All the Nigerian dances you displayed here are mostly Igbos except Hausa and Yoruba dances. Masquerade (Mmanwu) dance is also Igbo's. Thanks for sharing.
