My dear, marriage has no rules and regulations, it depends on how it works for both of you because what works for you and your husband might be different from what works me and my wife. Knowing how to cook is good for both couples but trying to turn your husband into your house help is not really that cool. Remember he is a man and God made a woman for him as a helper. Pursue your dream as a woman but do remember to play the role of a wife and a mother aswell. What I understand from what you are trying to promote here is Gender Equality but you forgot that God never created a man and a woman to be equal, that is why he took a rib from the man to create a woman. Remember it's still a man's world, he said let us create a man in our own image, he never said let us create Human being because a woman is a human aswell.

Romans 12:10 states that husband and wife should compete to out honor the one the other.
In Ephesians 5 the same Bible that says to the wife to submit to and reverence her husband also admonishes the husband to cherish to the point of laying down his life for his wife.
While the two adjectives in all practicality mean the same thing,
The difference in their application is the difference in the male and female psychological needs.
Appreciation (which women seek) and respect (which men demand) as is expressed in the above mentioned scripture, is what Jesus refers to when He forewarns to not cast your pearls before swine.
In other words as swine will trample down pearls to get to slop, if a woman/man does not appreciate/respect you ditch them, before you get hitched themโฆ
Mindful that the "S" word must be a two way street also know:
The opposite of submission is contention.
The first born of contention is division.
The male response to a domlneering spouse is to either hit, git, or himself submit.
In each case, the result is a unhappy wife.
And so, in other words: to "THE FATHER KNOWS BEST" must you both first submit.
