🌋Climbing Up a Volcano in Kenya / We Hiked Mount Longonot And Walked Around it's Crater
At 2860m above sea level, Mount Longonot is one of the highest in Kenya, Africa and offers some stunning 360 degrees views. But the inside of the crater is what’s very impressing!

Did it last Saturday. It was tough but very good. The stairs were brutal.
I beat you to it. My friend H and I walked up there in flip flops in 1983. Hot n sweaty but successful.
I went there a few days ago so magical 😊
Great video. Again thumbs up for this video, its really captivating and worthy to gaze upon. I spend much of time watching your content , it really encourages me to one day start up a travel you tube channel in future. Which camera do you use to shoot your videos with please?

Est-ce que c'est possible de monter jusqu'au cratère avec des enfants (5 et 8 ans)?
Hi Dave thank you for this video i subscribed to this channel and am proud visit menengai crater in Nakuru.
And it has erupted!
we climbed mt longonot with my class trip braeburn high school it was an amazing experience, up around and down, it was raining on our way back so slid all the way down!! there were no steps back then early 90's
The proper way to pronounce it is "long gone not" 😜
Congrats guys. That's my home area. Karanja…..from Kiambogo now living in Canada
Great video, I've climbed Longonot probably 15 times in the 7 years we've lived in Kenya but yes you need to turn right not left when you get to the rim. They have improved it with those concrete steps but erosion past couple of years has made the last 1,000 ft to the summit a lot harder. Very dry and dusty most of the time as you noticed. But keep your eyes on the trail and watch out for those bushes on the trail with trones that can take out an eye. One climb we saw 100 blind children climbing each with a sighted helper. I was so impressed and amazed at them. Here's my video of the climb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w91TVflQea0&ab_channel=DeanCowles
With much love
You should have a look at the places where the overland trucks camp. They are usually pretty good in my experience. Will update on Kenyan ones in a few months when that trip is done 🙂

I will never forget the feeling I got when I climbed Mt. Longonot and reached Ngamia….I felt like I had conquered the world!
The choice of the background music is a real adventure. Kudos Tracey and Dave. Love from England 🏴
This reminds me on Dec 12th '19, I visited this place in the afternoon, it was cloudy and when I got to the summit, I was by myself, I went ahead and circumnavigated the crater, and rain caught me halfway, it was such an experience and an endurance test for myself, it took me 2hrs 30 minutes for the whole adventure
Just love how Dave acts like a kid in the hardest of circumstances
Try Mt. Kenya now
