Spring Porch | Decorating My Porch For Spring in a simplistic style

Join me as I decorate my porch for spring! Just as we like to bring the outdoors in, I also like to bring the indoors out with cozy seating arrangements and items not necessarily meant for the outdoors. I am keeping with the same primitive colonial style that you will see inside my house. My new metal Windsor bench and chairs has made it so…

  1. Joyce Humphrey Think about asking your husband to make you a work table so you don’t have to break your back I do like your choice of plants. Work on getting bigger containers so plants have more room to grow. I was florist for twenty five years I always want to plant early as well but usually, I regret it the longer in greenhouse the bigger the plants are and more Variety to pick from I just get so excited but this year I’m waiting but I can get my plants at cheaper prices so sometimes I have to get them early or somebody else will get to them first.

  2. Your porch is beautiful! I noticed you used garden soil (in ground soil) was there a reason instead of using potting soil? I'm been afraid to use garden soil in my pots. Thought they would dry out to quickly.

  3. Love the crock. My largest crock is a #6. It has wire w/wooden handles. It was $50 ,but, the guy gave it to me for $40. A great deal. I live in central WI on 80 acres, so our weather is probably close to yours. Can't wait till I can get to my 8 flower gardens, they all have different themes. I have spent a fortune on flowers, I saved seeds from last yr. plants and will try to start seeds soon. I've never done that before. One thing I love to find old antiques in which to use as flower pots, but, then I have to get more flowers! I put screens over the holes in my birdhouses. Cute porch.

  4. I love your birdhouses. I too have a birdhouse my son made when he was 9 and he’ll be 33 this June. It was wasps that took over his birdhouse. Still my favorite birdhouse though.

  5. I’m looking for a primitive milking stool. I’m in Iowa, the weather has been unseasonably warm, but yes it’s not time for flowers just yet, at least in Iowa.

  6. Love your front porch, so pretty, that birdhouse is amazing!! Two suggestions I would add some color by painting the front door and also I always pot my plants in the grass, the spill of soil is good for the grass and you don't have a dirty porch, just a suggestion.

  7. Hi! Just came across your channel! Looks like we have some things In common. I love and collect anything old.. antiques, primitive, vintage, Victorian.. all the things😊 The ones in the dish are Dianthus, I always plant some in my planters every year. We actually have some growing out in our yard and they come back every year.. but I know they're annuals🤷‍♀️ Not sure if they're two different kinds or what, they were here when we moved in the house. The petunias are so pretty, can't remember the names of the others either. My favorite thing to pants in my planters are begonias and coleus'.. ask the different colors & varieties! Also love the potatoe plants. And hang ferns from the top of the porch of course! I love to plant hibiscus and elephant ears in the yard, and Gerber daisies! Lol yeah I love flowers too💐 Just waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer, probably won't plant until mid to late April. Your porch looks beautiful❤ I really enjoyed the video! And of course I subscribed😉😊

  8. Looks great! Yes, those are dianthus in that planter and they do come back every year. I’ve had mine for years and am in upstate New York so they even survive our long winters. I was just at Tractor Supply and saw the bench and chairs…oh so tempting😂. You did an amazing job and what a great deal for the crock!

  9. Your porch looks amazing. I can hardly wait to set mine up and plant some flowers unfortunately here in New York we have to wait until May . Thanks for the inspiration I can start planning mine you gave me some good ideas !

  10. What a nice buy on the 5-gallon antique crock. Too early here in Ontario Canada to plant I'm envious I can't wait to get my hands dirty. It would be fantastic if TSC had the metal Windsor furniture here. Love how yours looks. Happy gardening

  11. Everything looks great 👍 I’m really excited about spring too!!! I just bought an antique galvanized pail to use as a hanging basket for my geraniums this year. I already had one so two will be great for my porch…my daffodils are coming along nicely too.. first sign of spring for me here in western Massachusetts.. we can still get some cold weather here so just looking for a bit longer…they look really nice ❤🌷🪺🪻🪺🐇🦋🐝
