Kenya doctors' demonstrations: Medical staff strike for fourth week running
Medical staff in Kenya are on strike for the fourth week running.
They’ve demanded more interns be hired with better pay — but the government says it can’t afford any pay increases.
Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi is in the capital Nairobi where doctors have been holding demonstrations.

Deplorable 😢
Shame on kenyan government ,,,how can a doctors strike for 4weeks
Point of correction, we're not demanding payment increase. It's the government that has reduced the normal stipend by 91 % with a lame reason of let's live within our means.
What we lack in kenya is governance, we have a very corrupt president, plus his ministers, people with corruption scandals from here to Timbuktu running the government
Will Africa ever be able to live like a civilized country?!!!
Patients are dying on almost weekly basis and many being from the road accidents which has been happening almost 2 years now.
For almost a month plus strike and yet the G.O.K has done nothing to solve issues there in. You have to question why? and importantly bring this matter to an end.
This isn't really accurate. The government delayed to post interns because they were planning on slashing their salaries by 91% which of course all doctors refused.
That and also the 2017 CBA that wasn't honoured by the government.
🕰️
Interns are porters in the hospitals and they suffer alot with no good payment 😕
Kenya is a corrupt country.
There is no future in Kenya.
