It is absolutely ridiculous black people are still blaming their current conditions on slavery. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming white people for all of your problems. Is it white people's fault that the host of this show cannot even speak proper English? One reason black women allow themselves to get so fat is because black men are still willing to have sex with them. Even the women on this panel that have lost weight or still fat.

Obese black women don’t live very long.
The idea that culture is a reason why Black people don’t eat healthy foods is false. Slaves were a people who GREW food, and after slavery was over, the families that had property during reconstruction were farmers , therefore the food that our people naturally lived on was natural, healthy, and also mixed with the cultures which remained from their ancestral homes in Africa. We have to stop feeding ourselves these lies that shitty food is our culture. Bad food has been pushed on ALL of us…all races by the FDA, the sugar industry, etc. Who decided bread needed sucrose corn syrup? Does anybody remember school before the “food pyramid “? Bread and grains were supposed to be a big part of a growing child’s diet. Who decided that MILK from a dang cow was what children’s bones needed? How many kids do know who are lactose intolerant? We have to stop echoing the lies and BS we keep telling each other and our children about food. We have to stop saying dumb shit like “that’s for white people…Black folks don’t do that….Black folks don’t eat that…” It is ignorant to the highest.
Black folks are not built fat. You are not “thick”, honey….you are obese. If your BMI is too high for your height, you had better check your blood pressure. This bbl look is unhealthy and cartoonish, and women are dying to achieve the stupidest standard I have ever seen. We have to stop body shaming us skinny girls. Stop telling us we need to eat more, when you know damned well you need to eat less, and your skinny friend makes you feel self conscious about your poor dieting habits. Instead, why don’t you ask your friend to help you. She might have some knowledge for you that could add years onto your life instead of you trying to convince yourself that being obese is what men really want, and you are happy as an obese woman who is out of breath on the stairs, can’t play with your kids, no stamina for sex (no Kama Sutra)…stop lying to yourselves, and stop thinking the plastic surgeon is the answer. You are still unhealthy. I say this with love because I have had to get real with some of the women in my life because I couldn’t be a good friend while allowing them to live an unhealthy life, all the while lying to themselves knowing they did not really feel good about themselves. It was hurting my heart to think of having to speak at their funerals when their heart failed. Real talk.

I am extremely ignorant of health and nutrition and really appreciate the knowledge about eating the right foods to stop from being so FATTTTTT!!! I am tired of being SICK & FAT!!!
Lack of education of nutrition as an adult is a Damn excuse!
ACCOUNTABILITY is one of the problems. We blame everything and everyone besides looking into the mirror and admitting we don't work out, exercise, cook at home, etc.

To be honest, everyone is genetically predisposed to certain health conditions due to the way an ancestor handled stress. Stress and environments trigger certain genes to express and adapt for organism survival and in some cases it shows up as autoimmune diseases or "inherited" conditions no matter your size. BUT the soil now is not as healthy or nutrient dense as it was in the past. The seeds are not even the same seeds that produced nutrient dense crops. Even the meats are not 100% chemical free. I urge all that enjoy pork to find out what raptamine is and why Taiwan was throwing pig entrails across their parliament floor. The very food you eat is synthetic and in some cases "edible" plastic. We can take back our health, but our solution is a little bit more complex than just eating with portion control and cardio.
When I go out Jogging I don’t see any black women jogging I literally see every Spanish , white or Asians or every non black women jogging . That’s the problem
It's racist to only be concerned about one race when trying to solve a problem.
Leftists will blame white people for black obesity (and everything else, actually).

No healthy foods are not costlier. That is a cop out. You can get fresh fruits and vegetables at cheap.prices. Some people just like pigging out because fattening foods taste better.

Sleeping well and managing stress are also ways to keep your weight down in addition to what they were all saying. Glad this topic was addressed today.
I think seeking counseling and developing a good relationship with food is important. I like Brix's comment about talking responsibility and moving forward.
My issue when it comes to weight loss is you hear people saying there's no excuse in this and that most of the time there's a deeper issue when a person is abusing food but no one really wants to focus on that they want to focus on making a choice if you're very unhappy or you have some depression issues you're not going to stop with the addiction you're going to continue to find a happy place with the food

When you cook one eat better . Stop the cheese and the fry foods . There’s many ways to cook healthy and inexpensively . Great show and topics.

I truly truly loved this topic on the show. I’m losing weight now and being health conscious of my food intake. However, this was my first time watching Tammi Mac show and i really wished she would have been conscious of not cutting off the panelist while they were talking. For example, i was really interested in hearing what Brix was trying to saying about the difference between failing and quiting on a weight loss journey at the 28:26 marker, but she completely cut him off. You can tell his demeanor changed slightly after that. I just hope she tries to work on this next time. Actual listening thoroughly before getting too excited to speak 🗣
I’m so happy this was discussed, I’ve had problems with fibroids and cyst on my ovaries and I know for sure it has to do with my diet so I’m trying to cut out dairy,eggs,fried foods beef and pork pt of my diet taking it one step at a time.
