I was in New York for the first time last week. I did not feel out of place. It felt very familiar. I was blown away by the transport infrastructure though. I wonder if it is the same in most parts of the US. If it is, we have some work to do.

Once you are settled and have lived longer in SA, you will start to differentiate the south africans from non, but it wil take time. South Africans don't complain about such.
SA men hardly make lame comments or argue, they are intelligent but you will hardly hear from their mouth, mostly, they let silly and petty things slide.
So do not be worked out by not so clever comments, dont even respond to such, otherwise we wont see the difference. We love people, you will get to know when you really know south africa qnd the real SA is country side thats where you get to know how certain tribes behave, zulus xhosas sothos pedis xitsongas, etc its then you will know how south africans talk.

Greetings and salutations Mr El Malik…my brother, my brother, my brother you took the bait, hook line and sinker. It's quite ironic that in the beginning of your video, you saw and experienced it yourself with the old man. As beautiful, warm, kind and as welcoming as the majority of South Africans are because of a life philosophy called ubuntu, it's important to know that whether you're African American, Jamaican, Congolese, Angolan or Columbian, South Africa is no different than any other country in the world. South Africa has its fair share of haters that are bitter, miserable, ignorant, misguided and jealous, commonly known as buckets in a crab. South Africa is going through tough and uncertain economic times and as you know, crabs are the first to turn on each in difficult and strenuous times. My point being, we are all children of the light, wether thats Jah, God or Allah or whatever name best suits you best, try and stay in the light. You and your wife are blessed, you live in a country that's blessed surrounded by people that are blessed…do NOT let 1/2 negative or questionable comments drag you down and make you loose focus on living your best life in SA. Cape Town is the most backward city we have in SA,the most classist and racist we have in SA. There is an Anti black narrative going on there, any black progress made is looked down on. We need to change that more Diasporans need to move and buy property there

We share the same surname with this brother, but I don't agree with that. I would like more Black-African American to buy more property and invest in South Africa. There is a very small percentage of black African Americans who are living in South Africa, and we need more of you to come live here. The other race invests in this country in numbers, but we never complain. We need to let go that spirit of jealousy amongst our self-black people. The colonisers have been using and still using the divide and conquer rule & we can't afford to allow that in our race. By the way the Bantu people of South Africa also come from West Africa, so we can't fight amongst ourselves because we are brothers and sisters.

SA is still a very young & delicate country which is still trying to find its way. African Americans raised us & nurtured us During apartheid as we looked to them as source of inspiration during those hard days. Apartheid government isolated black South Africans from the rest of the continent of africa & exposed us to the West especially USA. African Americans made a great name about themselves during Apartheid times of hardships. We regarded Your freedom fighters as our own.
