  1. Hi Shan!
I have read your book “The Game of Desire.” It’s an amazing read, and I’ve learned a lot about myself as I’ve trucked through it as if I was one of the girls in your experiment.
However, I am still struggling to meet my forever guy. Somehow, I always attract practical bums on dating apps, married men at bars, and a whole lot of men who text me to death but lead to nothing of any significance.
My dream guy would be a blue collar or higher man who has stability, a good work ethic, and would be a provider. Someone who even at our age (I’m 38) still likes to go out and have fun, and would enjoy traveling and things with me.
Would you have any suggestions of places I could go to meet men like this? Or idk any ideas of what in the world I’m doing wrong….
I am reaching out, understanding you are a very busy celebrity and this is just a shot in the dark… but hoping you have any suggestions for me.
    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,

    Sarah

  2. I’ve been watching your channel for a LONG time. It’s been a pleasure getting to watch you & your family grow! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
    P.S.
I’m a mama too. Seeing the video clips of what you & your fam have been up to lately just had me smiling so big the whole time. It’s so realistic & relatable. Especially, Shan singing & dancing while cleaning. GIRRRRLLLL! YASSSS! I do my best dance work when I am cleaning or doing mundane tasks. lol! ❤

  3. Wow, this came at the perfect time. Yesterday I hit 6 years in LA and I found myself feeling like a little bit of a loser for not accomplishing what I feel like I came here to do, but this video has affirmed and validated thoughts that I’ve had about this city. I need a mindset shift, whether I stay here or not. Thanks Shan!!

  4. I felt to comment on this video for many reasons. I want to start off by saying I have been watching you for years and been a subscriber for years. The knowledge that you strive to acquire for not only for yourself but for those watching is invaluable. It’s non matched, so thank you. I’m sure people reach out to you on regular basis, for obvious reasons, but me personally I can’t say thank you enough. For always showing your vulnerability, your sincerity, and giving us suggestive feedback. I cant tell you how often i have approached men with topics based off subjects I have listened on your platform. It has helped me over the years grow into the person I am proud to be today! Again, no words. I’m sooooo extremely happy for what you accomplished in your life and all your struggles and strength you have displayed for us to, possibly internalize in our lives and hopefully be able to do the same for ourselves; and it did just that for me!!! You have been a mentor for me and I have never met you but hopefully one day I will!!! I pray that I will! I know in my heart that you are an amazing person, business women, mentor, partner, friend, but most of all, I can’t imagine the mother you will end up being to your daughters, THE ULTIMATE!! Kudos to you girl and thank you for always sharing! I hope you do read this and I hope you know you have true admirers out there much love girl ❤

  5. If only you know what the future says, you'll know that indeed cryptocurrency is the future, investing in it now will be the wisest thing to do. Hold!!! And you" will thank yourself.

  6. I have tuned in to your video and I have not commented. Actually, I do not think I ever commented on your videos. But I just wanted to thank you so much for sharing your background and your mindset before you moved to Los Angeles.

  7. ITS ALL MENTAL. i live in nj now and its no different than living in Toronto. Ive grown to see most of my fellow americans as relatively naive, canadians relatively stupid but I digress. You can make it if you have a plan and the the energies to go for it. Right now, im thinking of going for my phd. I might stick it out in the northeast or return to toronto for that. but its always good to get out of your comfort zone. but i ve to admit i still cant get over the over judgement and owl stares when im back home in toronto. its weird and nauseating…

  8. Also are there any neighborhoods that you would recommend newcomers (BiPoC femme), to start in/move to?

I moved to DC about a decade ago after living in NYC for most of my life. I was hoping that moving to a “smaller city” in relation to LA or NYC would help me to flourish in my music career but as the years go by I see that this area is not for me. I would move back home as the benefit of moving to DC has increased my financial opportunity but I can’t take the cold weather anymore. I’ve always wanted to move to LA even as a kid, not for Hollywood but for the weather, culture and much like NYC, opportunity.

I’ve decided to take the leap finally and move LA. Your video/reflection really helped confirm my choice and that with everything you must try. I always have a good feeling whenever I go to LA. I look forward to being a part of and building great networks/communities when set roots out there 🫶🏾

  9. I’m more of a newer subscriber after coming across the lover’s & friend’s podcast and Shan you are amazing (I’m sure you that 😊). Thank you sharing this part of your story 🙏🏾 it was so beautiful and inspiring to hear.

Moving from another a major and sometimes intimidating city LA is so courageous and a feat in itself. Thank you for never giving up that journey/process despite it all✨

  10. As a Canadian content creator (part Time) and my partner is a full time creative we did wonder if we had better opportunities if we move to the states we have seen many Canadians YouTubers move from Ottawa and Toronto (stromedy, the anazala family , the rush fam etc) to many parts of the states ….so while I get how it's not necessarily- is the case .. unfortunately monetization here is really restricted. Unless Canada laxes its laws . There will be more creatives from Canada migrating to the states …we always wondered if we got big would that means we have to move to the states… anyway…thank you for this transparency Shan. It really helped.

  11. I'm so horrible at networking. I've been working on a instagram profile for a year now. And I've been invited to so many local influencer events in my city and I'm so anti social and anxious 😂 I'm working on that.

  12. I love seeing the real life view of your set. You look so beautiful and vibrant on camera. But then you see your "set" is just one chair tucked in a corner shoes on the floor. I think it just shows aspiring content creators that A. Not everything is as it appears. And B. You don't need some big lavish high budget set to create content. I mean obviously your equipment now is expensive and high quality but you didn't start off that way. Thank you for being an example and inspiration to me and others! ❤❤❤

  13. This hits close home. I moved from Lviv to the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, in 2012. I still struggle with finding and keeping friends and most of my friends are all over the world which makes it difficult to follow up on these relationships given my anxiety and self consciousness issues. Thanks for invaluable content, Shan!

  14. Even though I don’t want to be an entertainer or content creator, I LOVE hearing how you created your career and business. I always draw lessons for my own career. Thank you Shan for sharing!
