Why Africa is so Poor (Hint: It isn’t Colonialism)

Colonialism isn’t the only reason Africa is poor. It isn’t even the primary reason. Here’s the real reason why Africa is the poorest continent in the world.

You’re right it’s not colonialism, it’s instead neocolonialism and government corrupted leaders elected to power in part by neocolonialists.

A lot of y'all are saying you're from Africa but this is the internet and I have a white man in my videos pretending to be black talking down about black people. Anyways y'all keep talking about corruption corruption CORRUPTION! Of courrrrse there's corruption but where does that ideology/system come from?! COLONIALISM!!! The video title is telling you the idea they've inserted into Africans, and every other indigenous people they colonized, heads. You're "poor"! The video shows Botswana which is building like Europeans and they're not considered "poor". All those systems that lead to corruption are from colonization/colonialism.

Pretty sure you started with the titled and worked backwards instead of doing research other wise it would have read. Colonialism isn’t the only factor. Clickbait bs trying to capitalize on confirmation bias. Uhh yea colonialism certainly plays a role. States created by colonial powers whose borders were drawn without consideration for who actually lived there doesn’t create stability, it makes it far more difficult. It’s a recipe for instability. I don’t think Singapore is the best example as its position on a major historic and current trade route which in addition to wealth that comes along with that, major powers would have a stake in its stability. Singapore has 7 major languages depending on how you look at it. The Congo alone had more than 200 distinct languages. Great example there buddy, don’t quit your day job

Spain, Portugal, and England colonized the world, stealing all their natural resources. They're now close to bankruptcy. Resources give an early advantage, but countries need to develop industries to stay on top. The US is currently learning that lesson as it tries to bring back industry.

This video assumes all of Africa is poor and that Singapore has no poverty. There are many flourishing parts of Africa but poor leadership has lead to inequality. If you think that Europe plays no role in Africa’s oppression however you only need look to those leaders like Traore and Kagame who are resisting Europe’s dominance to see that the West still has a paternalistic, exploitative attitude towards Africa

Terrorism, political Corruption and dependency on ties with european countries and countries like Russia and china providing infrastructure but not paying local workers enough keeps the people "poor". The resources are worth trillions, There are 54 countries, there are bustling cities, people work, you can say the same for India.

Africa is suffering from neo colonialism, it didn't change.

i find interesting that the truth has so few view and the manufactured truth has so many views.

its must sickening to be in a big group of people that know they are not telling the truth and have to cover lies with more lies. it must make you wrinkles on you face get deeper after repeating a lie over 100 times.

and its blessing to watch a video with less than 10 views and hear the truth and recognize it without popular opinion.

Oh so Europeans and Americans orchestrated coups, in Singapore? Singapore was sanctioned by America like Zimbabwe was? When? Françafrique happened in Singapore? The IMF debt traps Singapore? Guess what happens to African leaders who try to nationalize their natural resources? Their leadership gets sanctioned or killed. Like Patrice Lumumba was killed by the CIA. Just like heavily acknowledge Afro American ratchet culture which causes disproportionate crime, I acknowledge that western people are cancer for the global south nations. There's plenty of stats that show why the west HEAVILY contributes to African poverty. Take responsibility for the way your actions effect your life and OTHER PEOPLE'S lives.

The biggest problem in Africa is corruption, however a lot of that is directly due to the legacy left by colonialism and post-colonial foreign policy towards many African nations. Also, how colonialism drew borders created many problems that led to wars post-independence.
