Did Dricus Du Plessis Win That Fight?

Following UFC 297, Dana White himself said he thought Sean Strickland won over Dricus Du Plessis as well as many media and fans. Did you agree with the decision? An amazing fight regardless and a historical achievement for South Africa.

  1. Hey guys! A few notes on some of the comments so far!

    1. Thanks for watching and replying! I do read them all!
    2. The whole headbutt thing was not circulating until after the video was done being written and recorded and I still haven't seen any verification on it, but that's why that didn't pop up.
    3. Had I know the Ric Flair philosophy on changing titles was so popular I would have addressed it. The judging criteria is what it is. There's never been a clause that says someone needs to do something extra in a round to earn that round against a champion. I understand the mentality, but it's just not how this works, so that's my two cents on that.

  2. DDP took it barely but both dudes equally deserve that belt. However I think to sort out the middleweight division we need Strickland vs Khamzat and DDP vs Izzy. Let the winners fight for the belt and losers fight. In any outcome there’s going to be some insane rematches unless someone surges the ranks. Seriously grateful for how competitive the middleweight class is right now.

  3. He objectively won the fight lmfao idk how people are calling it a robbery or saying Sean deserves an immediate rematch. There is ZERO REASON to give someone with zero defenses a rematch especially when they looked like absolute dogshit. Sean won the first round, but that round was not good feom either guy, so realistically the only GOOD performance Sean had was THE LAST ROUND. Dricus 100% 10-9ed Sean in 2,3, and four

  4. I didn't like this video because the title was 'Did Dricus Du Plessis Win That Fight?' and 90% of the video was talking about things other than that like the undercards, what happens next, etc.

I expected in-depth discussion of the fight. This maybe should have just been titled 'UFC 297 Recap' or something.

  5. Good afternoon, my name is Yanga Tyobela, I am a student in Rhodes University South Africa. I am a huge fan of your work and I follow you on instagram.
1 know you probably do not get such requests but I'm reaching out to you for your help, if you can. I am enrolled for a Post Graduate Diploma in the Enterprise Management, the program do not have many bursary opportunities thus why l ask for any donations or assistance. The cost of the program, my proof of registration my Identity certificate can be obtained can be provided . Thank you for your time and consideration. The whole cost for my accommodation, and tuition would cost $6345.

  6. Tommy is right, DDP/Izzy makes the most sense now. But to give chimaev a title shot for beating Usman (who can barely walk without pain these days) on short notice is a joke. Let chimaev fight Sean or the winner of costa/Robby

  7. If it's that close why pick a winner? Thats the kimd of silly part. That could lead to the greatest fightest ever appearing almost average in the stats if enough of his losses were actually more like ties

  8. No one know anything about mma takedowns count Strickland could not defend. Watching it the fight it was more counter fight off Strickland. DDP MIXED mixed by a margin. Technique, skills, and discipline matters. Strickland looked like he was fighting Alex minus getting KO. He played it safe even if he did land a lot of punches, but DDP showed a performance. MMA is not about throwing punches and KO’ing, it’s showmanship. Honestly I thought Strickland was going to at least wrestle and defend his title, but he looks like a scared pup.

  9. People have to understand and these boxing fans have to understand too this is MMA take Downs matter and that does play a factor into a judge's decision. The only person you should be getting mad at is with Sean Strickland himself where was his knee, where was the uppercut to counter DDP shooting? Plus why was Sean Strickland on the back foot the whole entire? If I'm the judge and DDP put pressure on him while those two others factor in I'm going to take the belt off of Strickland.

  10. Bo and Khamzat are the future of the middle weight division. Everyone else will drop off and that will be the rivalry that will be talked about for years to come.

  11. all i know is ddp's technique looks very amatuerish, fights in a straight line no lateral movements. barely any feints and just blitzes like the white derick brunson. Would love to see him against sizzy adesanya.
