South African farmer Pete Mutepu grapples with financial troubles amid severe drought


South Africa is the region’s biggest cereal producer but a heatwave has been scorching crops.
Prolonged drought is fuelling price increases and damaging livelihoods.
It’s also triggered water shortages in the country’s economic hub, Johannesburg.

  1. He's been farming for 14 years ever since the government stole the land from a white farmer and gave it to him. Because he's incompetent and not really a farmer he doesn't know how to grow crops in a drought.
