What AoE news can we expect Friday? (AoE2, Mythology, and more!)

This Friday, there’s a big Age of Empires franchise live stream revealing details about the next Age of Empires 2 campaign DLC, the Age of Empires 3 new DLC, Age of Empires 4, Age of Empires Mobile, and a first look at Age of Mythology Retold. This video is just my own speculation and guesses to spark conversion about what could be revealed….

  1. He got the Historical Battle 3.0: The Return of the Workshop pretty correct. Could it be that Mr. Law knew about this the whole time? Is the man with the great voice a part of the conspiracy? Put on your tinfoil hats.

  2. So, the announcements we got where:
    • Age II is getting a "campaign focused" DLC that doesn't actually seem to have any new campaigns and is mostly a bunch of mods that where given a re-skin and a price tag.
    • Age IV is getting more basic features that should have been in ths game from the start
    • Age III had its existence acknowledged for about 10 seconds
    • And for fhe main presentation, Age of Mythology: Retold: We got to see like, 3 unit models… Still no release date…

  3. So the new expansion was revealed to be 19 stand alone scenarios…. 14 apparently already existing ones originally by the community and five new ones. I feel the devs duped us by promoting this as 'campaign focused expansion'. I expected fully fledged CAMPAIGNS. We are getting another battles of the conquers , which is fine and all but doesn't hold an entire expansions on its own. Let's hope the content itself will be enjoyable , I expect it will be.

  4. Can they please give us the finished and previously cut Kaesong (Koreans) campaign 😢
As someone who graduated in Koreanstudies and who's fascinated by Korean history, this would mean a lot to me.

  5. My personal idea for a Maya campaign would be the conquest of Tayasal. It wouldn't have too much historical figures, but the main thing that is worth mention is the fact that they resisted for over 200 years straight the spanish conquest, even years after Tenochtitlan fell to Cortes 😀

  6. Age of Mythology.. in my mind the most fun and fast paced age game. AOE2 always felt very turtly and very spammy for me.. but AOM was always great and fun at any level, very excited for that

  7. really looking forward to 3 civ dlc since i love that game the most, and if they reveal much more of Mythology which i think has great potential

  8. For Age of Mythology Retold I hope they will add a campagin based on the original Age of Mythology E3 demo with the Misenus campagin and maybe a campagin based on the Rebuilding of Atlantis

and for Age of Empires 3 im kinda waiting for a new campagin (maybe where we play as the Circle of Ossus) and maybe the Circle of Ossus as a standalone civilization, we got Malta, USA already , why not the Circle too?

  9. My biggest wants for Friday: AoM release date and footage/details (including new civ); AoE3 new DLC; a hint about future AoE4 DLC. (I still buy AoE2 DLCs, mostly to support the devs, but I rarely play AoE2 nowadays.)

  10. I'm hoping they'll come with a full campaign for the Turks. Now we have manzikert only. What could've been added in my vies is the estabilishment of the Ottoman Empire, the conquest of Istanbul, the balkan, otranto, cyprus, crimea, west of the arabian peninsula, palestine, egypt, libia, algeria. Already getting excited only by thinking about the possibility

  11. Frankly, they could scrap Atlanteans and Chinese (at least for now), and instead develop the rich roughly Mediterranean theme of the original. I want Romans, Phoenicians/Carthaginians, Celts, even Israelites/Hebrews/Jews (prophets instead of selectable gods), etc. It made no sense to go from Bronze Age Greeks to medieval Chinese (though Norse were a bit iffy on the timeline as well…)

  12. I am dying for AoM news so badly. It was my first RTS. I do hope we get a new culture, I personally favor the Americas, Japan or even south east Asia. Celtic and Sumerian could also be strong choices
I pretty much agree on AoE 2 predictions
On AoE 3 I would change Persia or even Poland for Austria, it’s a huge civ for the period and it just does not make sense not have them but who knows.
Good to hear that AoE 4 is alive my computer cannot really run it but I do plan on buying the expansion and future content once I upgrade
