DENSEL BOY
Well spoken mama Burna
Wizkid was the first to go
Global, not Burna Boy or Davido. The title should’ve been an interview with Burna Boy mom.
How can you talk about Afrobeats taking over the world and not mention Wizkid. He was the first international star and he has always been in the forefront of taking African to the world. Wizkid open that door and artists like Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, and other are benefiting from his success. Please Wizkid is a Legend and Global Superstar. Burna Boy became popular over 3 yrs ago, so how could he had opened the door, because Wizkid went international in 2016.
It’s NIGERIAN MUSIC NOT AFRICA MUSIC
Im not áfrican. But im afro Caribbean and i feel extreme proud of my black side. Its time for momma africa. Tears of joy…❤❤❤💛🌻🖤🖤💛💛✨✨✨✨
The wave is too much. 😊
Wishy washy story. Afrobeats is a type of music genre which originated in Nigeria, not Africa as a whole. There are other genres of African music like Amanpiano which is south African, there is highlife which is Ghanaian.
Give credit where it is due.
If you want to talk about African music generally, that is fine but dont call it afrobeats. Misinformation channel
Stop calling it Afribeats it Afrobeat
Africa , it's about time, the gift is here. They don't need validation…. Africa has burst unto the worlds playlist. Opportunities, challenges. Burna boy is arguably large African artist. Multiple awards have followed. Mother Burna key point is on his mother's value. He is towering above the rest of artists. Potential pit falls in future. Fulfilling, .. she works with him, and that's fulfilling, for the family and also the continent. His mother and best friend. Did you both found the formula to work with each other? He is more matured, he's older, there has to be boundaries and respect. Is burna's music work from answer to question….Burna has a range and his manager understands him…..Africans should own their catalogues.
Our own @spicediana 🇺🇬 in the begging of the video
The world is just late

Afrobeat founder is fella kuti a Nigerian 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Fantastic journalism right here.. I learned a bunch of new stuff!
“You raise your kids with what you know “- Bose
You can’t give your kids what you don’t have. Hmmm
Mama Burna is the truth!!!
Hope all upcoming artist's got the message? Or else another form of musical slavery will start again due to ignorance of the business side of the art call Music 🎶
Don't sign slave deals
Keep your copy rights
Keep your catalogue
Strike deals that are worth It''
We do not seek western validation for our talents. We are lit and have been lit. Everyone else is late.
THE MUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE BUT NO EXPOSURE TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. BUT THE INTRODUCTION OF SOCIAL MEDIA TO THE WORLD HAS MADE THE DIFFERENCE IN MY OPINION.
Hmmm for many years ago foreign artist have been collaborating or being featured in afro beat or african music. It just got more popular in the internet due to newer platforms.
African music has been popular for many years befor now.
Thank you ma, that is why you and your son are on top. Keep being yourself. A pan Africanist.. Be vigilant, the struggle continues!
Not only in music Africans is the based of the world foundation , it going to be include in every aspect of life, the beginning and the end, Iam that Iam
Beautiful mama
Music, Fashion, Food, Film and next is Infrastructural/social development/prosperity.
What simply happen is we stopped trying to copy the western music and embraced our style. That is the sound that is unique and appealing to many
Afrikan ate the most creative human beings in this World
This is How the Afrikan race Must behave NOT separate from the motherland Afrika
Most popular modern music has African origin because African have always been so talented at doing music and dance. The despicable slave trade just globalized the amazing talent. Thank You Africa ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Mama Burna is amazing.
This not new. It is only because of media. For example..Fela's .music from the 60's made popular by James Brown in the 70's..been appropriated. African and the carribbean people have collaborating in the diaspora for more than 40yrs.
Africa produces great people(my ancestors), music, food, resources etc,. The only bad thing the continent produces is leaders. 😭
Burna has eventually won the Grammy
Get ready for Amapiano too
My big take away is from mama Burna, the scramble for African music likened to the scramble for land in Africa. A big eye opener and lesson right there, do not sign your soul away own your catalogue.
African music should be valuable in Africa we should completely ignore the Grammy and other awards in the west and focus on Africa otherwise this sound will be stolen by the west
God bless the founder of Afrobeat fela kuti RIP 🙏✝️
It is time
This woman(Mama Burna) is enlightened!
Except America 🇺🇸
thanks to technology.. coz now even the poorest artist can make music. its a win win for everyone.
MAYBE AFRICA SHOULD CREATE THEIR OWN PLATFORM IN AFRICA ACROSS THE CONTINENT. DON'T ADOPT APPLE ,GRAMMYs SPOTIFY .
NIGERIA GET ON IT. CREATE YOUR PLATFORMS!!!!$$$$!!!
ONE AFRICA
DON'T GET USED BY THE WEST!!!!!
AFRICA UNITE !ONE AFRICA!
please someone can tell me the name of song in frist 5 sec of video@
Mama Burna is the typical Nigeria mother. I have so much respect for her!
🔥🔥
And when they start producing groups like kpop 🎉
To everyone pissed about the fact that the anchor kept referring to “Nigerian music” as “African Music.
The 5 step percussion that makes up the foundation of every afrobeats song is Ghanaian. That's the first thing you learn in nursery in Ghana 🇬🇭 cos that's how we clap to nursery rhymes. Also the term afrobeat(not afrobeats) which the current sound was derived from was coined on Ghanaian soil and it's more influenced by highlife music (the one true Ghanaian sound) than any Nigerian sound, true it was by Fela but it wasn't born on Nigerian soil. Plus the only thing Nigerian about the current sound may be the language and the melodies, nothing else. Everything else is a hodgepodge of sounds from all over West Africa, especially Ghana.
PS: There is a Pulse Nigeria “Facts Only” episode by Motolane Alake that talks about this topic, the origins of the sound and more. Don't take it from me, take it from a source y'all Nigerians trust.
There's no difference between Africa and the African diaspora, we sing, dance and sound similar when we speak.
The sooner Africans and their scattered brothers realize that they are blood family, the sooner we can reunite.
Africkan music will be on the top with out hesitation because we have very rich culture and history so we are just starting
Can you please share the song list at the end
Mama Burna sounds so intelligent
It's not that people are going to try to 'take' the African talent, but rather the industry will exploit them just let every other major record label.
