The real 2023 matric results
The real 2023 matric results
In this video I discuss the matric results of 2023 and government’s reaction to people expressing concern about student dropping out before finishing high school, as well as the learners writing the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), who consistently performs better than those who are part of the standard government process.

But now in 2024 dosent the government also have control of the private school MATRIC exams and if so what is going to happen now ??? …………
Oh South Africa how far have you fallen.
People are a bit more mentally mature today than in contrast to previous generations, watch some 70s,80s ads and see what shallow tricks caught a fish in those times, today being in a world were your wallet is constantly hunted by companies the average person needs to be a bit more wake-up than days past.
Having said that the students have all the past years papers, access to dozens of books and lectures on any and all subjects, so the tools are also sharper and more plentiful today.
However the false achievers aren't as dangerous as the true failures , imo, as within todays life fewer young people see a road to a form of achievement, the white picket fence, respectable job, healthy stress free existence seems impossible…
This has nothing to do with mental capacity but the implementation of mental capacity through emotional awareness, in other words the students and teachers aren't making the best of the year so they only cry at Christmas.
The lost hours could be spent in "putting the student in place, where the whole day is spent sorting the naughty", or were the work is a mere formality to get over with like X to a lady of the night, impersonal in contrast to knowledge about the actual reality this layer of life gets to build experience in as "real" life is reduced to bland formalities, they study to please the world not to become what heaven hides of them and that's the problem I believe.
It's a spiritual leech that is causing low pass rates not the power of the Brain and it's capacities.
THE ANC HAS MADE IT SO BAD THAT YOUR A FUCKING IDIOT IF YOU DON'T PASS AND THESE BLACKS STILL FAIL LOL. ANC MUST GO GO GO!!!
Dit is moontlik😂😂😂
Swangerskappe
Dwelms
Moord😂😂😂
Sjoe a samosa klomp matrieks😂😂😂
So much to consider.
Generations ago a subject pass was 33%. So to talk about 30 and 40% is not actually valid on its own. There are numerous criteria to be met before awarding a matric certificate. That being said, most of us would approve of higher standards to pass.
Consider also that not all matric passes are equal. I think that when we consider an academic route (as opposed to vocational training) we should rather consider the number of bachelor passes.
Another major issue is the socio-economic issues, presence of parents and the role of values.
Teachers in 'good' schools will tell you the challenges to get learners through school. Now add to that the problem is many schools are over populated; Children with low academic drive and poor discipline; poor public transport and social unrest keeping kids from school… We see the challenges grow enormously. Have you ever tried to keep the attention of a child who hasn't eaten since state subsidised lunch from day before. I think many critics are unaware of just how tough it is to be a teenager in South Africa, especially for those in poorer communities. Teens are exposed to alcohol and drugs and with the lack of guidance and support from parents they give into the pressure.
I salute my colleagues in education who work in these very challenging environments and nurture success.
It's true that government has a big role to play but in reality, no government in our country will be able to fix these challenges.
It's up to individuals in society to work to make it better.
I may agree with some of the criticism, but give some solutions. We in the education sector would love to hear some positive feedback from time to time. We on the ground are working our backsides off to give the learners a fighting chance. So, please, step in. Find a school in your area and give a helping hand.
Easy if you lower the pass rate to 30%
Very enlightening, hopeful and encouraging message. All South Africans should here this…
Cape Town / Mitchells Plain
What should i do? I am 23 years old and want to study in Accounting. I dont have a father and my Mother is mentally disabled with Sassa grant. I am struggling with food and housing everyday. I have faith in God which is what keeps me going. I finished My GED which is a grade 12 equivalent and got around 70% to 80% and applied to NSFAS this year. Im waiting on them to approve me but im not sure if they will as i am a white man. Please if anyone can help me get help from NSFAS then it would help me greatly as i need to take care of my mother and my twin brother.
Dear SA, how does lowering the standards make sense. This is why you have university students who cannot construct sentences. A person who gets less than one third of the questions correct passes 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a bit pathetic… Shame!!
i passed my matric with the pass rate they require but now no uni will accept me, life is tough , lets do self development and better our lifes…… seems like blaming the government will not take us anywhere
5:54 I love this stat. Income inequality measure. Let us make some assumptions. Firstly let us remove the people not actually working from the stats. Then let us acknowledge that the stats include people that just started working (with less than one year of experience) and include people that have been working for 40 years. Now we compare the difference between the lowest income (people that has less than 1 year of experience) with people with 40 years experience. This difference is a good thing not a bad thing!
There is a reason why only politicians care about this stats. Because it is a stat that only means something if you want to manipulate people. In reality is is so flawed that there is no way you can use it to make a decision.
Gini and all the other measures that they use to try and prove income inequality is so flawed it is not even funny. If you want to measure income inequality you have to remove
1. Experience needed to do the job
2. Education needed to perform the job
3. Difficulty of the work
4. Desirability of the work
And only after you have remove all these factors can you say that you are measuring inequality in income. (Difference in inequality in education, unemployment).
Yup. The more you repeat a lie, the sooner it becomes a "truth". It is astounding how our current ANC government's blinkers seem to get bigger each year. Their deluded notion that life has become "better for all" is the real lie. To your point of takIng control and not waiting for the government to do anything, – this may work in a country where unemployment is in single digits, there is a respect for law and tax money is not plundered and criminal officials who steal from the tax payers go to jail. My question has always been, " Why do we pay tax and rates and VAT when it is not being used to uplift and maintain our infrastructure? Why is the President constantly asking the private sector to"get involved" – why are we paying for a overstaffed government workforce who mostly do no do their jobs? It baffles the mind..
This governments ethics is appalling..they have shown and proven to the citizens of this country that they have no morals, ethics and values. They money sucking entities
You only to be in school until grade 9, then you can go to a TVET college and train towards your chosen vocation. Hence it is disingenuous to include every pupil that started grade 1 in the matric pass rate. The rate is for people who registered for matric and rightfully so.
There are many things wrong with the South African government. Please focus on those instead of making porous arguments on non existent issues. I clicked on this in hopes of learning something but your video is hogwash.
Let me guess, was those statistics based on 20% pass rate 😅
ANC has destroyed SA
Now you'll understand why the average idiot in the street is incapable of crossing a road safely at the traffic lights 🤦♂️
People should know by now, the ANC and WEF want's to create a ZOMBIE generation to stay in power, this is a worldwide agenda.
30 % pass rates wtf!😢😢😢
If this was apartheid regime results, you were going to keep quite. you do not like Africans. Well done class of 2023. Atleast this Bantu stan education that limits natives to low paying jobs. You did not criticize the springboks wining by one point. Say something constructive about South Africa, may be we can listen to you.
This is like all the fake degrees that are bought on the dark web….BStipid PHDunce
Unemployment won’t change, just get worse, because no employer other then civil service would tolerate ignorance..
Well said
Joys of communism
This is why, you get people with Matric who do pass a trade test……but they don’t know serie vs parallel connections, cannot read a measuring tape, do not understand the difference between deg and mm, cm to mm, degC vs Fahrenheit ect. Its absolutely frustrating finding competent employees these days, but they all have papers
These ANC idiots dont care about the kids its only about their image create domkop people so you can get votes.
Well said Ernst
Why would the matric pass rate concern people who thought Bantu Education was a great idea? Even during Apartheid 3o% was LG 32.3% SG and 40% HG. Now since most people ppst matric work in jobs that does not require highly skilled people i really wonder what the fuss is all about. Most of you sit in positions which you not qualigied for while questioning matric resutls. You Apartheid Spoiled Bratts are so annoying.
Ask any public school teacher, they'll tell you that they get instucted to add marks to failing learners. They can add 10% to an exam paper.
anyone who paints Thatcher is glorious colours should not be taken seriously
President's own economic advisor faked her Phd so what is new
Excuse me. You clearly don't know the history. In white school you could pass on lower grade and actual pass rate has always been 33% in old South Africa
Baboonary 😂
Ramaphosa advisers even have fake qualifications, can't expect much when you have a minister of education that can't even read grade 1 numbers😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
'n klomp doese😂
Suid Afrika is eenvoudig in sy moer…
Polly put the kettle on, Polly put the kettle on, anyone can teach a parrot anything, will the parrot be abble to structure a sentence – no it will always say what you teach it.
Ernst, when is this country going to change???
GOSH…. but this ruling party are without a doubt ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE 💯
do they REALLY ASSUME that everybody is as THICK as they are.
They DO NOT even care about their own people.
Parasites of note.
Classic disgrace of a government
This is the reality. We will see the rot at tertiary institutions.
Poor souls more delusion of grandeur. Even worse Uni are under so much pressure to graduate women & non whites. On those lowered standards 30% there's still grade inflation LOL. Imagine from low to higher edu they're just passing kids to the next grade. Which leads to based peeps trusting straight white men & asians just like in the US since there's no racial & gender preference for them.
Surely the pass rate applies to whomever wrote and passed the exams. I get your point about the reduced pass standards but to measure dropouts from Grade 1 is nonsensical. The biggest factor in determining the dropout factor is probably economically motivated.
❤
All my life of 50 years in education I have fought against this cannon fodder kind of education. Put us next to Singapore, Finland and Vietnam….
Someone get rid of the 3 year language policy. Its garbage, unproven and has no basis in research.
ANC must get out of power before South Africa can become one great nation again
For the last 20 years (most probably longer) the annual drop-out rate has been around 45%. This translates into nearly 500 000 students per year, that leave school with very little in the way of a useable education that can lead to employment. Keep in mind that you can get to grade 11 without having passed a single year of school, these kids do not have a hope in hell of getting employment for anything other than digging holes and sweeping floors. The South African government spends a fortune (of the taxpayers money) on education and has very little to show for it. After ten years, you have 5 million unemployable people that cannot be integrated into the work force because they are barely literate and totally innumerate. The government claims that the youth unemployment is so high because the businesses' will not employ the youth, but continues to churn out half a million unemployable young people every year.. The mainstream media seems to be incapable of reporting on this insane failure of government.
