The AFD is a democratic right-wing party that represents conservative values. It has poll numbers around 20 percent. The current government has not moved Germany forward for years, and that is why many people vote for the AFD – be it out of hope or protest. If Germany deals with its problems – infrastructure, migration, instable economy, criminality, housing shortage etc. there would be no reason to vote the AFD. But our governments have postponed these essential problems for decades – literally.
What's the point of democracy if people keep voting for the same stupid parties?

The reason why the AfD drops is because the old parties sent in all of their NGOs and the main stream media to create an extremely hostile environment for anyone openly siding with the AfD. You can really feel the cold hatred when just saying the AfDs name in public. The whole society has been extremely polarized so a lot of people just lie when asked about their political alignment to not get in trouble. Publicly announcing your support of the AfD can cost you your friends, your job and even can invite unwanted attention from the ANTIFA, it's just too risky for normies.
OTOH it's not a good idea to openly support the Greens since their politics are so bad that Germany's in free fall and you face social isolation and shame. The Greens destroy the country, the situation is really dire and we will soon get riots and see the complete downfall of Germany's economy followed closely by the breakdown of the social system which currently supports far too many immigrants. As soon as the social system fails, the cities will burn. Next will be the EU to fail since when Germany fails France's and Italy's debts that where burrowed in Germany's Bundesbank will reappear, crashing the whole European Union. Well maybe the Russians swoop in to take advantaged of a disarrayed EU/NATO, then I would live in a french protectorate looking over the Rhine to a new empowered Russia. 😂 Dark thoughts indeed…
