I personally think that the term "black owned" on a business is synonymous with bad customer service. I know someone who owns a luxury brand and you wouldn't even know that a black person owns it because he strategically made caucasians the face of the brand. If he came out as the owner, that luxurious perception of the brand would change. I'm just being real! 😬

“Niggas got Nice Clothes No Swag” – Vinny Cha$e doesn’t matter what you wear it’s how you wear it you are the luxury
Why we still talking about colour? "Blacks supporting black brands" can an asian or a white person say the same thing ? "Whites supporting white brands" we need to stop saying things like "building a black brand" that shit is limiting and outdated, we need less of these divided statements and more unified, all inspiring, all inclusive chit chat that normalises black culture not seperates it, yall are holding yall selves back with this kinda talk
yes, it’s all a mindset and we do devalue our own!
support talley and twine
Telfar is black owned as well as a-cold-wall , heron Preston , denim tears, endless, etc . They out there forsure just need more light shed . As far as the perception I think networking is key ! They can’t box you in if everytime they see you , you with somebody of different race, orientation, even style.
It's all in the marketing.
Karl Kani is living and striving in Europe
🤔 create a symbol along with a brand name?
Black culture is not a luxurious culture, we come from to much pain. Any black designer that gets into high fashion will always have to battle looking like somebody their not. Italian and French culture scream elegance, there is a reason why most luxury brands are European. it is not a black thing white Americans do not break into high fashion either.
There have been and there currently are B.O Luxury brands. They just don't last
The problem I have with the topic of this conversation and the comments made by Jim Jones is that it always seems like our own brands are never good enough. Fubu wasn't good enough. Karl Kani, Sean John, Echo, Cross Colours, Enyce etc. were never good enough. We call our own brands corny and knockoff but we're willing to spend money we don't have to support them. We're always complaining about how hard it is to get into the fashion world and how some of the designs are racist and how they treat us at the stores. What happened to that Prada & Gucci boycott when they had the blackface design? They do things like that but yet we cant wait to spend millions of dollars with them. When will we be good enough for ourselves?
Unity and support each others business could be the answer in my opinion
There are Black luxury designers with some amazing products from jewelry, shoes, clothing, accessories – Kendall Miles and Brother Vellies are my favorite shoe designers, Laquan Smith, Christopher John Rogers, etc. In terms of fashion houses Olivier Rousteng and Maximillian Davis at Ferragamo. I would like to see Black women at the helm of some of the large fashion houses. However, as much as I can I'm gonna buy designs from Black designers. I would like to actually see more Black brands that are mainstream like Veronica Beard and Alice & Olivia.
If Diddy did not completely get exposed Sean Jean would have become the next Ralph Lauren.
Dapper Dan got screwed out of developing high end custom fashion brand, by Tommy Hilfiger. In his own words.
That's why we need to boycott them all
Check out the brand MAXHOSA from South Africa
Luxury brands are all perception! What some elitists believe is ultimate extravagance. Not the lineage of the brand.
We have been held back from using our own cloting designs, that have been stolen by the way, to elevate to Luxury status.
Heron Preston, ev bravado There’s a few black luxury brands on the ride
As people, we are brainwashed into hating ourselves and believing we are "less than." When you see someone that looks like you opening any type of business, you get the trend riding demographic IF it becomes a trend. For the most part we see ourselves in the person that has opens a Black owned business and self sabotage. We are the only people that allow other races to open up shop in our communities and take the money out of our neighborhoods.
Luxury is a feeling and association with superior period! That’s a lie heritage is stories, we just need to tell our stories if that’s not the case rhude lv amiri off white etc are luxury. Anyway problem solved watch this space ! !
FENTY
Pro black celebs would give more exposure to our luxury brands

Brother Vellies
Brandon Blackwood
Hanifa
Aminah Abdul Jillil
Pantora Bridal
izayla
Please purchase Harlem’s Fashion Row’s book, Fashion in Color to learn about other blk national and international designers.
Telfar is getting the play they’re getting because Beyonce wore it and made it exclusive. We, the average consumers, don’t support black brands enough. Milano Di Rouge put out one of THEE best genuine leather handbags that could easily compete with any luxury bag on the market right now in terms of quality and I doubt people are rushing to buy it.
@1:34 Did He Say Louis Vuitton Was Black??
It was called Lacoste.
What about Heron Preston?
There's plenty of them actually
LAQUAN SMITH – BLACK LUXURY, BLACK OWNED
I think psychology does play a lot. A lot of retail brands like H&M Zara do the same thing.
I thought Fubu, Dada, and P miller was luxury clothes tho?
There definitely are black luxury brands. The majority of black people just don’t know about them.
These bozo never heard of gallery dept 😂
The Yeezy line has a luxurious price tag
Designer: Brandon Blackwood👌🏾
The White Man’s Ice is Colder Syndrome. Nothing more, nothing less.
She’s telling a damn lie. McQueen was started in 1992
Black People are brainwashed into thinking other races of people designers are better than blacks, black people rather spend their money and support other races than their own. Black People hate on other Black people.
The sign I needed… Remember me!!!
