Syrian army collapse driven by economic woes, sanctions, and attacks: Analysis

Thirteen years of war in Syria have killed more than 350,000 people, displaced millions and torn the country apart.
The conflict has largely became a frozen one over the past four years.
Until armed groups launched an operation last week from Idlib.

  1. Censorship is on overdrive on this channel. why don't you expose SAUDI ARABIA's role in this? They also funded HTS and it is SAUDI ideology (salafism)' Saudi made a $$$deal with ASSAD to leave once Saudi and Israel/US made the HTS plan

  2. Wish more news orgs would interview Landis. He has an excellent record of being right even when his views were unpopular. Such as in 2011 predicting Assad would not go and the army would stick to him.

  4. The Syrian Army, telecommunications likely was hacked and likely by the Israelis. And it is likely high level Syrian army officers were bribed too. That explains a lot about the rapid disintegration and apparent inability to organize a defense.

  5. “Rebel group”? I thought al Quaeda was a designated jihadist terrorist mob. Anyone remember the war on terror … anyone. Now apparently the arming and funding and propagandising of HTS (al Quaeda) by the US, Turkey and Israel is fine. And BTW the Syrian PM has already been taken away by the “rebels” and Damascus is being sacked.

  6. Trump's assessment was more informed than that offered by Prof Landis. Trump said the Assad regime collapsed because Russia had been weakened by 600,000 dead or wounded in Ukraine, and Iran and Hezbollah had been decimated by Israel following Hassan Nasrallah's rash decision to attack Israel in support of Hamas' incursion last year.

  7. Aren’t these “Rebels” still on the terrorist list?

    Including the US terrorist list?

Is that why western media is selective in how and when the term is used because they’re now being used as a proxy to serve its interests?

These people are literally an off branch of Al Qaeda, ISIS, ISIL….20 years ago west had portrayed them as public enemy number 1

  8. Coordination with Israel, US, and Turkey. They're "giving" Syria so they can continue taking Palestine. Watch the future claims that "conflict in the region" has forced Palestinians into Syria "for their own safety." It feels too easy because it was a hugely coordinated series of attacks from huge state players to various local and international rebel groups. It's a continuation of the war against Hezbollah.

  9. Some wonder, if billion dollars of US military equipment, left in Afghanistan, helped 'armed groups', sometimes labelled 'terrorists' or 'freedom fighters' depending who's doing the bestowal, in their Syrian action or did it come directly from USrael with their 'Gazacide' shipments?
