“I was passionately pro-Israel, I never questioned” | AJ #shorts

Once firmly pro-Israel, Jewish activist Simone Zimmerman was confronted with difficult truths while listening to Palestinian testimonies and speaking with an Israeli anti-Zionist student. Words like “apartheid” and “ethnic cleansing” took on a new, deeper meaning.

  1. What the actual f. She did not not apartheid had a historical, ethical and legal meaning?. What is going on in isreal? I swear there are othedox Jews that can teach up to the PHD level who you randomly meet in the streets of London. What is going on?

  2. Kembalikan saja tanah hak Palestina dan kalian hidup damai seperti ketika pertama kali menginjakkan kaki di bumi Palestina dan disambut hangat oleh mereka. Sungguh tak tahu malu bila ditolong malah merebut tanah orang yg menolong

  3. Several years ago, I met a Palestinian who grew up on the Gaza Strip. He explained the lifestyle of apartheid that was inhumane. There was a 10pm curfew that Palestinians could not be or walk on the street after that time. If caught, you immediately went to jail despite having papers allowing you to leave your place of work (for example) to go to your home. On these papers, it described your job's location & a set of directions to your home. After a night in jail, you were released only if you were arrested en route from work to your home. His story reminded me of South Africa and occupied Amsterdam & Paris. 😢

  4. She is describing mind-control. People fail to realize exactly how many of us have fallen prey to it(all). It's generational. We are programmed before we take a breath and then it is strengthened after our births.

We need to purge the programming so that we can be fully human and exist as an organism in harmony with this earth and her people.

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. Perhaps she missed about how Jews were treated in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Somalia, Jordan, Yemen, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Turkie, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Sudan, Oman, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Malaysia, China, North Korea, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Cyprus, Chad, Niger, Mali, Liberia, Cameroon, the list goes on. Normy needs to stop his hatred, the world will be better off without him. He was already disgraced for putting ideology before academics. Let’s put a stop to his was war mongering and replace it with sanity in the world. I challenge Normy to a debate, of course he would never accept, he would lose.

  6. And now you are passionately pro-arab/muslim, and never questioning any parts of this new world view. Interesting that you never talked to people with pro-Israel views to get their side of the story. How about asking why there are 2 million arabs living in Israel? How many Jews live in jordan? egypt? etc.. What happened in 1948? What happened to The Jews from arab/muslim countries? And there are so many other questions.

  7. In our parents home us boys grew up as avid readers following mom & dads excellent example. Sword of Gideon was a heavily leafed thru paperback. Watching the horror of the 1972 terror attack, Munich Olympics had our riveting attention. But time & reality with knowledge brought other events to the foreground: King David Hotel bombing, USS Liberty attacked, 1982 Invasion of Lebanon, murder in 1985 Yitzak Rabin. Now the killing of children and mothers in Gaza holds our equally riveting attention.
    Stop the genocide.

  8. a lot of americans are pro isreal. their ancestors did do the same thing to native americans after all. but they failed and we are still here. praying for palestinians all over.

  9. I'm a Jewish woman and I did not grow up a Zionist or Antizionist. I told my mom I wanted to go on the Birthright trip and she explained things to me in a very clear and fair way. Then she told me "I won't stop you. But before you go write me a letter on why you want to be a part of that. It is our ancestoral home but is recreating it worth the cost?" This was in 2016. A lot has happened since then.
I've been AntiZionist and di still am. But the more viral (bc lets be honest, this is only online resistance with no real plan or execution to help) I see a spike in antisemitism. I see Free Palestine used to justify hatred against Jews and a small part of me is beginning to understand the belief that a safe land for Jews is necessary.
Please stop hating us. Even many Israelis are antizionists. I have so much empathy for the Palestinians pls have indifference for me.

  10. This gives hope for the future & World Peace. However, just now, it's so hard to see how & when this tragic domination will stop – Gaza & the Occupied Territories, current incursions into Lebanon & Syria. Netanyahu & his supporters …. evil through & through.

  11. The path she talks I know so well.
Taught to be mindful of the Hebrew Nation from an early age.
But my true learning started 42 years ago when I travelled India with a Palestinian and some Armenians. I got into a strong discussion/argument with my Palestinian brother ending with him shouting "You know Nothing!"… and he was so right.
I still love the Jews…their Rabbi's, people and Holocaust survivors that stand up for the Palestinians and treat them as brother and sister.
As for the others…they lost their right to respect with how the commit genocide, erasure and crimes against humanity. They have forgotten how to treat those before them as sacred.

  12. The terrible wars in that area have always just ripped at my heart. If it truly the Holy Land, it should be kept that way and free for all to exist in. It should be the most peaceful place on earth if you follow the teachings of any Abrahamic religion. Even those who are not a part of those faiths should treasure it as it carries the name of what it truly is: "The Cradle Of Civilization." So much History has yet to be discovered there because we cannot sift through blood-soaked soil. I pray that someday soon Gaza and all those who call it home will know peace, harmony, and unity. No more bloodshed. No more suffering. Just the ushering in of an era of prosperity and happiness for all ❤✌️🫂
