I'm sick of the myth of slavery not all slaves were treated unjustly because if you look at the slaves the majority of them took their masters name in a hell of a lot of them stayed on the plantation

@nicholas2827

I would say you are correct, save for it being the most brutal, as horrible as it was, slavery in the Islamic world was just when not more brutal. Rarely was it less. It was Christians who saw the evil of slavery, and there were plenty of “Christians” who tried to justify it, just like there are some today who try to justify abortion. Respect to you sir, not everyone can own their ancestry. Though you are no more responsible for that sin than we are for that of anyone else’s.

And yet a similar evil exists today in this country, but no movies are being made to virtue signal from Hollywood. Replace where they say “slaves” in this clip with “unborn babies “ and you’ll see the truth.

I'm a white guy from the rural south. My family farmed for untold generations. Some even owned slaves.
Let me tell any doubters or fool out there who may have illusions otherwise….slavery was evil and the civil war was exclusively about the continuation or rejection of that evil. In the south, we know this, even if some won't admit it.
Slavery and the hatred that followed it afflicted my people, blackening endless hearts and souls.
We were not the first slavers, nor the last to do away with it. But we fought hardest for it's continuation. Our ancestors, with bastardized and religiously justified evil intent, committed evils we can hardly imagine these days.
At a certain point, which I believe we have mostly reached, forgiveness can be attained and our nation can be whole. But history can not be forgotten. And my ancestors, and all others similar, were NOT righteous men fighting for their homes and families…they were devils best left in the dust bin of history forever.

The great ill of slavery was put upon the colonies of england, By the huge
Slave trade king George the third of England. His ships hauled the slaves, His people purchased them in africa, His people sold them here, And in the caribbean. And he imast a great wealth
from the slave trade.

The day of reckoning did come, all too late for many people. Our nation’s darkest hour, to purge ourselves of our greatest sin. Spare a thought for all those who died in chains before we righted that greatest of wrongs, and all those who spilt blood to do it.

Because he didnt like what was said he asks bass if he likes hearing himself talk, first inkling of guilt crosses his eyes like a shadow.
