@noonesishome

I still think this way. I came up here and it just reinforced that black Americans and americanized yankee born still love beinf victims..im struggling but trying and black Americans who are better off than ms crying victim. Stupse

@Kik03

That’s why they cook in the dirt and can be deported

Systemic racism is a construct many Jamaicans don’t understand it’s just not something we are exposed to. Although we all came over on slave ships our experiences were different. We come from a majority culture. We understand classism and sexism and colorism as we experienced those but less so racism. We don’t understand what it means to be considered less than human and how that’s been written in laws and policy that impacts every thing – finances, healthcare etc. 😩

@ChantelBMason

She is right. However the opportunities were hard won by Black Americans. That said many Black Americans need to now take advantage of those opportunities

@Donatello777

As an Afro Latino I must say when we all come together as one nothing can stop us, maybe our environment and our “new” way of living have changed us over time and have put a lot of limitations on our minds.

We have to see what our fallen brothers did to get us to where we are today.

Patrick Lumumba
Malcolm X
Martin Luther King Jr
Fred Hampton etc.

Mindset is everything, if you’re mentally strong then you can get through every situation. Believe me.

@StrondoBattles

It isnt Black Americans fault that Jamaica is the way it is, Jamaica is the way it is because of Jamaicans, you're at fault, dont come over here see what we have made for ourselves and become jealous, dont look over my fence at what ive built and become envious because you cant do the same in you're yard…😮😮😮 Stay home and clean your own yard, dont talk about mines…

@naana-scelyne6370

Black Americans paved the way so we Africans, Islanders and others groups of black people can have a comfortable life in the west. Thank you to my brothers and sisters. You are loved and appreciated ❤

@Briy903i

Lmao the fact that all we have is ourselves, foreign black people never fw us 😂 I love when they get here and see things for themselves tho.

@NinaThomasBooks

If you're an outsider looking in, you shouldn't speak on someone else's experience because you haven't lived it.

@kingyoung5228

Last time I checked as black Americans. Did we not protest and fight for every single freedom granted to us in this country? Nothing was given.
As a Jamaican, isn't her country still a cesspool? Did they even try? I f**** hate when people complain about black Americans. You came over here from your s*** country. For a reason, it usually be them Africans too. It's like well. Why didn't you all try to make your countries better? And maybe you could have some opportunity instead of looking over here and bitching at us Acting as if a 150 years of sabotage is supposed to just disappear like that, and it's f*** u* because right after slavery, our communities were starting to become on part with some of the white ones, then they were burned to the ground. All of the black leaders who wanted peace were assassinated. So tell me who's supposed to be talking about peace? 😂😂

@herculesh1907

Why can tgey build their own country?

@kimjadehill4915

All African Americans aren't like that!!!

@Bigsmoove7112012

Sounds like you weak for running away from your country instead of fixing it. Black Americans had no where to run to from our problems we had to fight

@bethmcgill5944

Big sellouts but they come here and dont stay in Jamaica

@nattydreadlocks1973

On the other hand, black Americans wonder, what is y'all problem? It's not like you got the white man holding you down. We are wondering what your excuse could be.

@Juls673

Lmao the blacks in the comments proving her point 😂

@arsena1816

Black Americans go to Jamaica and show love. Some moved there and are respectful despite seeing numerous internal problems. Sone Jamaicans and others come to America and talk down to or about Black Americans.

@RoettaCollins

We don’t play the victim. The colonizers will do anything to prevent a cohesive thread in the diaspora. We (Black Americans) fought long and hard for all communities of Black folk. Still fighting too. Don’t get it twisted.

@Meeesh-gk1sg

Foreigners need not speak on the Black AMERICAN experience… it is extremely unique and amazing… BLACK AMERICANS have paved the way for most AFRICAN people all over the world!!! American Africans have made life better for everyone, with our inventions, ingenuity and very specific culture… America itself, is greater because of Black Americans!!

@johnmuuo7161

The key word is black people have been through a lot, but they dwell and hide behind that when they don't want to do or can't do something

@annettemiller9429

I am old and can remember how hard my mother worked for the few scraps that we had. We had our own garden and animals yet it wasn't enough. Look up the massacre in Tulsa Oklahoma. Foreigners come to America but have never really experienced America as a black American. You are Jamaican. Your are African. You are Indian. Right you don't get it.

@latashagiles3348

Black Americans come from families who participated in the Civil Rights era, which allowed foreigners to come here without struggle. I believe we forget, but know that we should never be perceived as playing victims🥰🥰😇😇

@dredboy4701

I mean y’all look at the benefits we fought and died in America it can fight and die for those same benefits In the country you belong but are proud to say out of your mouths how we complain #the irony!!

@DS-ss7fp

Black Americans should continue to complain and make a statement, lest we forget. The Jews complain all the time so no one forgets. Why should we let people forget when the injustices continue. Just try to leep moving forward at the same time.

@MrJayblue73

Don't overlook her last statement. "I now get it"

@lovelybrown5339

What🧐

@ballershanelle

Ask the older folks of any ethnic group who came during struggles ..Irish, Italian, or just poc Fighting for civil rights, school, to live in a certain area, to vote
..it would be looked down to go to Jamaica and tell them, look at the beautiful island and the Blk Jamaicans don't run their country or enjoy the vast wealth. Why are they poor and living in shacks and a lot whites are in mansions, one the waterfront, etc.,

They would be peed if we went there and talked about wasted opportunities to take the island and make it a black paradise. When do they not stay and make Jamaican better. I say that for any country talking about struggles and wins of another country

Are there lazy AA/Black ppl who are looking for handouts. Absolutely there are. However, ppl forget that systems have always been in place that work against Black ppl. We went from slavery, to Jim Crow, to Reaganomics, to discreet/not so discreet Jim Crow today. There's always systematic barriers that we've had to break through. I'm glad she acknowledged that there are barriers that Black Americans face. And even for a Black person with an accent, theres generally a different/better treatment for them than it is for AA/Black ppl

@AshaBlack-wy3ol

We complain that's why things get better we have earned our opportunities. Maybe more people should complain.

@angiep.4362

Until yuh get here and REALIZE seh AMERICA isn’t easy as well.

@Derrty-DANCE

These immigrants or dangerous, They will sell their souls for a better life. They will sell their daughters for a better life. They will sell out their own people for a better life.🤔

@thaddeussmith8394

Most of the hard work was done by us black Americans and now They come over enjoy the fruits of our labor and talk down on us.🤔
