How did Egypt amass such number of medals? They must be very good all round.
You dont have enough swimming pools in Nigeria, at the very least not wide spread.
It's all about training and incentives. We seldom incentivize our athletes to reach those world class standards by creating more competitive events, such as inter state, colleges and universities etc.
Great job, Team Nigeria. You people rose above all odds to raise the flag of our country. We can't thank you enough. God bless you.
Both private and Govt need to massively invest in sports. I know Govt has a lot of issues in their buckets, but private organizations and individuals can step in and help our athletes. We have the potentials. We have the ability to be the world's best. I think the gap between us and Egypt is a bit too much. We need to close that gap. Let's look at sports where Egypt gathered all those gold and intentionally search for best personnel in that area. We are more athletic. We have no excuse to be that distant from Egypt.
