Why is the US dollar so strong? | Counting the Cost

Donald Trump will soon be back in the top job, and the US dollar has risen on the back of his presidential election victory.

It has hit the strongest level in a year, days after he was elected.

The rally makes it cheaper for many Americans to buy foreign goods and to travel abroad.

However, companies that export products may become less…

@Dizz-vd8df

$trength is the accumulations of sales, "Made In America (USA)". What's left that's made USA; Guns, Bombs, Drugs?..

@Anon-e1t

Wow. So strong compared to what other currency bro? Its not the strongest currency in the world, you do know that there are other much more expensive currencies right? The dinar is one of them. Pounds and euros are more expensive. And 1 USD is only about 1.30 CAD. 😅

@semirmanjura136

It is strong for fire😂😂

@ep4585

The US manipulates the value of world currencies

@davidg.johnson7208

Nothing was mentioned about the fast increasing BRICS! New trading members are joining every year ( France & Saudia Arabia, and many global southern countries). BRICS side steps the U.S. Dollar with its control on countries and potential weapon use.

@war42691

China believes in China.

@mikecamacho1934

The dollar is strong only because all the other countries governments are garbage and unreliable. So the dollar is strong by default.

@Godwlingua

I am surprised AI Jazeera posted this video. Usually they are proBRICS

@PEPSI-s4r

I love that people from another country tell us about the US economy and daily life in the US.
(I am being sarcastic)

@katej3z715

What happened with Al Jazeera earlier this year? Did it happen earlier. The lean towards the US is really noticeable. I'm guessing this was Licence or Audience share. But the American accents, and influx of female reporters (to suit the West?) edges on lessening the channel's authenticity. As for the dollar, it has been repeatedly weaponised. BRICS are now talking about moving away from trading in the dollar, to lesson its weaponisation. The message must be take care with political use of the dollar.

@donnabergamin1399

His tariffs will fix that and strengthen BRICS

@brianhong301

DEMAND IS STRONG AS USA SOAKING UP USD IN EXCHANGE FOR IOUs, PAYING $1T INTEREST EV. 100 DAYS OR SO. ONLY A BANKRUPT PAYS INTEREST WITH NEW IOUs !@#$

@Peterlulu-ug2fo

Those who are waiting fall will wait for so many years

@Aliboos1997

The American policy is there's no competition to the other currencies in the global.

@captiveexile2670

TRUMP'S TARIFFS can mean onky one thing: RISUNG PRICES as the cost of triffs are passed to thoso whio PURCHASE— d so American consumerss lose 48-7billion $$ in "consumer power". Rots of ruck assing put favors to your wealhy trading pals in the your NEW SWAMP?

@IndianOutlaw1870

If the Dollar were strong, prices for goods and services would be low like they were in the 1950s. The Dollar is complete trash.

@saphone9758

It's the rise before the fall baby…

@HarryYouKnowWho

China trades more with Asia, UK trades more with EU and let America do whatever she likes. We have had enough of the American making threats to world business order every four years.

@jamesgollan8602

Because the Biden economy is so strong but don’t worry Trump will fix that

@r-rtz

Why did you guys bring this Mickey Mouse, he clearly has no clue

@epictraveller1331

They can do whatever they want trump only last 4 years. After that the dollar will be de stabilization

@syedahmed2018

Informative vlog and good tour of Kolkatta

@DavidLockett-x4b

Mohamed also said that lying to infidels is OK. The British can always go back to being peasants, if things get really bad. The Americans can drill baby drill, and the Australians can dig baby dig.

@Haderva

People born in the 1940s have been running the US since 1993. A certain generation of Americans have played the long game very well. Biden was vice president during the entire Obama administration.

@onecompass7290

The US is doomed, the markets are already pricing in the global chaos that he will bring. Elect a clown expect a circus

@mhairsto24

4:40 mark… TRUMP IS PRO DOLLAR 💵. Is he supposed to be ANTI-DOLLAR???? What are you people smoking 🚬 🚭????

@chillxxx241

UK needs to swallow its pride and realize that its children (United States, Canada, and New Zealand) have all grown up and are now driving the agenda. This “New block” with manufacturing in the United States and Mexico would be the strongest in the history of the planet and exoplanet soon once the US starts heading to Moon and Mars during this administration.

@VB-FightingSystem

Trump thinks he can turn the US into a export and import country at the same time 😂

@hiphopisdead

It's not rocket science.. when economies slow down countries tend to buy US treasuries which are guaranteed interest paid with fixed interests rates. Demand will continue to rise to hedge bad policies and investments.

@Roberto-okthen2

The US Dollar is just bad I've never used or needed a dollar in my life and it'll likely stay that way aren't these the same people black balling me bread crumbing me and on top of that harassing me on a daily basis I'm about to blow the whistle these people are some abusive sickos and they tell on themselves more and more everyday which is cool come on bro I really didn't expect nothing from you so run your investigation's at it bro where is my right to a lawyer at least

@elric8885

Let’s face it, Americans don’t really travel. Plus Trump will weaken the dollar. So much so that Americans won’t be able to travel.
