  6. Dr.Fuhrman : I am an african american male in his 60's and I was diagnosed with Hypertension in my mid 40's and was told by all of my doctors that I visited that my hypertension was caused by the genetics of my family history. In reality I was 50lbs over , I was eatinf the traditional soul food diet which was high in sodium and animal protein along with eating on a regular basis fast food from age 26 – 49 which was high in sodium , calories and cholesterol which caused my weight gain. I was diagnosed in the 1990's with hypertension when there was not much nutritional science linking hypertension to the standard american diet.
