I still want a red petticoat. The relationship between Rhett and Mammie was one of the highlights of the film. Mammie knew Rhett was a good man, society be damned.
Clark Gable refused to act until the black actors were allowed to use the same bathrooms as the white people. The black actors had to use the port o potties instead of the bathrooms in the building. Gable would not have it. He was very good friends with Hattie.
She made that movie so special✨
People were so horrible back then I've never understood how…. Anyone can treat another person like they've done through out history… Black people and Jews have been treat so unbelievabley horrible.. Look at what's going on here now in the USA I really really dislike Joe Biden.. Despicable he is and so it every single thing he's done in office but this last one takes the cake.. How dare he do this to the people of Israel and to our own people.. We are all mostly furious!!! He needs to be impeached and fast…. I'm sorry Israel and Jewish Americans.. I truly am. 💔💯🇺🇲🙏😔 I pray our lord protects them all.
Yes Ma'am. ❤
Clark Gable earned more respect from me for that.
At least Clark had her back ❤
I remember learning about the “hoopla” over Clark Gable’s intent to boycott the film and the Academy’s segregation acceptance policies. It was a well deserved Oscar which had many nominations in all the popular categories! Clark adored Hattie McDaniel and he was happy to get to express that affection thru his character, Rhett Butler! He remained a staunch friend and anti-segregationist.
🥰🙏☮️💟 ♥️♥️♥️
She was treated awful and was never compensated for her skills like everyone else was. She was a gracious human being that deserved much more.
God bless bloody America shameful
And of course she was not allowed to be buried in the cemetery of her choice. "The American Dream is financial, not ethical."
A sweet lady and helped make that movie unforgettable. One of my favorite movies. 🌹❤️🇺🇸
I loved her in GWTW. That is my all time favorite movie. The handsome Clark Gable adored Hattie.
Clark Gable was an African American man
