The MKBHD situation is so surprising, he has always come across as smart but this is next level stupid. The fact that he and his team blurred out the drivers speedometer just shows they knew that it was wrong for him to be driving that fast on a residential street and it's baffling that they thought it was wise to leave it in the video because even with the speedometers being blurred out people can still work/estimate how fast he was driving because we could hear how many gears he went through, can work out the distance the car travelled in x seconds…
It's not like he was driving just a little bit over the speed limit, he was driving A LOT over the speed limit and that is unquestionable unsafe, especially considering it's also in a school zone! it should be investigated by the local police department and MKBHD should receive a penalty of some sort. I don't believe a speeding fine is appropriate given that sort of money is nothing to someone like MKHBD. Likewise I don't believe driving bans for x months does much for most people.
Therefore I think the penalty should be a requirement for him to take part in a "defensive driving" initiative to learn to improve his driving abilities, understanding of road safety and would be the more humbling option; The police department could encourage him to admit his fuckup, show that he is fully understanding and turn the whole situation into learning experience for not just him but his viewers with them working with both the police & the defensive driving course team to create an educational video with the earnings of that video going towards a road safety organisation.
Should the US Government be audited every 2 or 3 years…. ABSOLUTELY. Should Musk be anywhere near that process…. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
I'm sorry I find it funny that there are a LOT of people who speed and get off on their fast cars. A lot of us speed a little bit too. But to completely go off on a guy on YT like we're all better than him. ok.
On the MKBHD subject, people literally speed every single day and get caught by the cops. Even if he were to get caught by the cops, most likely he would have a reckless driving ticket and a hell of a fine. I know it doesn't excuse the actions but people do stupid shit, now tell me that you bought a super expensive sports car or at least for given one and that you would not speed? Put yourself in the same people's shoes that you're criticizing. I find it incredibly hard to believe that even a single one of his viewers aside from underage viewers have never sped in their entire life. It's dumb. It's reckless it never gets you anywhere faster, but we are all humans. Cut the damn guy some slack.
