I'm really sick of the political smearing and hostility. Enough is enough.
Why can’t China play a fair game and use fair labor when producing their products? Chinese do not have integrity when it comes to treating people with dignity. This is why China is a threat to the world. They are out to enslave people in the whole world. By producing cheap products using slaves China is enriching the communist party and taking away jobs of people in other countries by over producing
Chinese government and business are corrupt to the level that is a hard to understand for western mentality. China is lawless.
That place has a name: East Turkestan! East Turkestan is a land occupied by China!
The West is not know to love the Chinese, nor Muslim. But now they care so much about the Live of Chinese Muslim, to the point they sanction people who live there from making a living from Cotton, Car, and now "Tomato". But most Muslim delegate who visit Xin Jiang praised the Chinese government on the area development.
Xin Jiang is free and open to enter without any restriction, but not of course not in the military zone. Which you will asked to be followed by the police if you want to enter the area. Now the GDP of Xin Jing is 10k USD, which is more than Thailand. China has make a right decision to do a counter terrorist funded to de-stabilized trade route there.
I wish the viewer do more research and not just fool themselves with one sided misinformation campaign here.
Full of bullshit,man
Shame of bbc, someone is lucky that have a job like this, you had better to go to xinjiang if they like working there, ask the villagers how they build their new house, how is the lift if they only live as a herdsmen
As a Chinese, I feel so shame that seeing this video has bias. I’d like to clarify these facts:
1. China has not banned Islam and other religions though it is ruled by the CCP
2. Any sanctions and boycott against these products could hurt mostly ordinary people. It makes worse.
3. There’s no forced labour in fact.
4. China has been more openly to outside world. If they cared about Xinjiang people, they should go there.
I dont understand why they would use human labor when YOU guys clearly show them using machines to farm the tomatos?
I am also very confused about when all of this is happening. There is a lot of empty gaps and no evidence that any of this has happened this sure is silly BBC
You only care about Muslims when it's about China right?
I have been to England this year. At that time, the BBC was reporting on Gaza and Israel. The news said that Gazans slaughtered babies, and Israel was a hero in liberating Gaza. Turns out, Isreal was the one killing children. After that Some time ago, the British people marched because of the bad economy and the British government suppressed it. Where are human rights? Why doesn't the bbc report on the suppression of the march by force? Why does the British royal family still exist? A pedophile family uses British taxes. Why doesn't bbc report the story of British royal pedophilia?
西方的人民真的相信你们这些“新闻”吗???😮😮😮🤦♀️
BBC is a brainwashing channel. Horrible !!😢
Fake news
BBC the story needs more haunting background music to sell the propaganda effectively, why didn't you guys use enough grey filters.
Appreciate your investigative reports to unveil the truth. Not only this one but the others as well.
Some western countries hate china and muslims, but obviously cares muslims in china😂😅
Syria people need BBC help 😢
BBC=BLAH BLAH CLOWN 😂😂😂
Why so shameful and disgusting? Why badmouth China’s forced labor when everyone knows it is not true? Is this how the Americans spend their paper money of $1.6 billion allocated to badmouth China? It is time to stop these abuses or wasting of money on badmouthing, wars, and upheaval around the world because of the readily available currency. Stop the US currency as the world reserve currency and it will stop all the problems created by these rascals.
funny😅😅😅😅
after gaza, bbc dare not to use the word "genocide"
hahahahahahah❤❤❤❤
Now I believe UK's economy is collapsing, after seeing how far they can go to earn some money.
This comment section is filled with so many Chinese troll accounts making excuses for the PRC. We see you.
So basically we produce the best AG drones in the world but forced labour is still our best bet when spraying pesticides… According to the data I found on tomatonews Xinjiang produced ~9 million tones of tomato in 2024. If a forced labour has a quota of 450kg/day, that’d take 2 million-forced-labour-day lmao. That’s just for picking. We haven’t included folks for processing, packaging and transportation and so on. Sure they are forced to work but still gotta be fed right? We Chinese are so stupid that we don’t seem to know how to best do business. Come on BBC at least you should lie better.
Another shocking reality to realize what we wear and eat contains the blood of Uygurs!!😢
Fake report. How much do you pay for these actors?
Free education, free healthcare, free poverty relief projects, protection against Islam extremist brainwashing, longer life expectancy, bigger population, free to attend praying in mosques, free to use Uighur language, and more decent jobs … All these have been happening in Uighur communities in Xinjiang. More importantly, all the Muslim countries in the world are supporting China on its policies in Xinjiang.
"Genocide"? “Forced labor"? Dirty minds now use these words like cheap jokes, when it is the devils who have been bombing, torturing and exploiting Muslims – elders, women, children – for decades in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Mali, Somali and other different countries, using their most advanced weapons and sanctions, without anyone being held accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity…TALK ABOUT Hypocrites!
So the last question: How to help the Uighur people in Xinjiang? Well, according to the sanctions proposed by the "noble" US congressmen, fire your Uighur employees and don't hire any Uighurs anymore, stop doing business with any Uighur companies, and avoid/boycott anything the Uighur people in Xinjiang produce. Ridiculous? Yes. So it's clear that the US Congress want to make sure that the Uighurs will be unemployed, poor, and easier to be brainwashed by religious extremists and terrorists, which will turn Xinjiang into unrest and chaos and stop China's development, somehow.
Fortunately, the global smearing campaign against China on Uighur in Xinjiang seems to have failed miserably, because this time they are barking at the wrong country – China, which is too powerful and too smart to be pushed around.
The United Nations should release a new report of true situation in Xinjiang, and push China's Xinjiang policy as the best practices of fighting terrorism and poverty for the world.
Thank you, BBC, for disclosing the ugly truth. I am furious after watching the video and even more furious seeing so many comments discrediting the video.
I am wondering, if Chinese government didn’t persecute Uighur, why they want to hide the number of tomatoes exported from China?
And if the low cost of tomatoes from China resulted from automation, is China the only country owning the technology to produce tomato harvester?
Facing one problem doesn’t mean other problems are ignored. I hope all the wars stop. I also hope the Chinese government stop persecuting Uighur(or violating any human rights)
