  1. 💗 If you enjoyed this video please feel free to leave a "Super Thanks" (heart icon above) 😊

    -Ashanti Empire

  2. By the way you did not mention guadeloupe in your video. Probably because it is a tiny island located in the eastern Caribbean. But by any chance can you tell me from what part of africa come afrodescendants from guadeloupe

  3. Christina, you really did a fantastic job. Actually I originate from the French Caribbean, Guadeloupe specifically and I really enjoyed and appreciated your video. It was well informed and detailled. This gives you a good idea of where our ancestors came from. Keep on doing the good work.

  4. Only black Americans the Igbo or Biafrans were half of all female slaves in Virginia and due to the high birth rate of Virginia slaves they would export those slaves throughout the rest of the USA basically most black Americans are descendants of Virginian black slaves. South Carolina imported more Africans than Virginia but never had as large the population as Virginia, in fact Virginia exported more blacks throughout the USA then those that came from Africa or Caribbean. Even blacks not associated with generic black Americans like black creoles of Louisiana and Gullah Geechie of coastal SC, Ga and Fl received Virginia slaves.

  5. Late as hell for this video, but im glad you broke it down about the African portion of Dominican heritage because the misconception that is being spread by people (including sadly Dominicans as well), is that we have African heritage/influence because of Haiti which is just completely false. And it just bugs me some Dominicans go out of there way to prove we're different but yet on the same note, link our African heritage with Haiti.

  6. By the way, us Brazilians are so mixed n diverse that you shouldn't be surprised to run into a Brasileiro with East African ancestry as well…my cousin has Ethiopia/Kenya as part of his ancestry…

  7. loved the video…..but ancient Ghana and present day Ghana do have a cultural link (even tho not a linguistic one). the Akan migrated from the Ghana empire (Mali) when Islamic moors and North Africans came into the kingdom and started converting the elites into Muslims. so many groups left the empire and went south (towards present day Ghana)

  8. Hi If you make some research you'll see mor Kongo legacy than another in United States , much more than Senegambia. Cuban culture is Yoruba and Kongo if you put a star in Haiti for kongo you have to put a star in Cuba also, cause Kongo culture(Palo Mayombe , rumba , yuka , makuta etc) is more pure and practices in Cuba than Haiti. You have to put a kongo star also in Jamaica with the Akan , kongo kumina culture is the most important African Culture in Jamaica with Obeah of the Ashanti people , it is the orign of the dancehall, Palenque San Basilio of Colombie also is clearly Bantu from Kongo kingdom , Thank you for the video.

  9. This video is amazing. Very well organized, informative, and a straight up Black history lesson we need! You would be a great fit for Africana studies on a college level. 🙌🏿

  10. I do think it's important to note that AA's have a high amount of Nigerian ancestry (like higher than the Senegambia and Windward coast percentages (I guess the state breakdown illustrated this too). But it's so interesting how different regions have different genetic makeup like the Northeast AA's don't match the Gullah-Geechee who don't match the Gulf Coast. Also if you look at the genetic makeup you can see the pattern of the trade, because less than 5% were brought here directly from Africa but most of us came from other places like South America and the Caribbean before they were sold here (especially people from the Gulf Coast areas and certain parts of SC/GA/FL and VA) so our more recent dna mixtures are probably a lot different from where our ancestors were actually originally from.

  11. thank you so much for this amazing video!

i'd like to add that there were some ethnic groups that might have not been as impactful to the demographics in the americas, but reference to them exists in the records made by the europeans, especially in the late 1500s-early 1600s.

here in México, for example, besides the large amounts of peoples from the Congo-Angola-Mozambique region (and along with people from "nación Mandinga" or "nación Jolofo), there were people from "nación Bañón", "nación Bran", "nación Biojó" (or Viojó), "nación Biafara" (but not Biafra), "nación Fulupe" (or Fulupa), "nación Zape". some, if not all of them, refer to ethnic groups in present-day Guiné Bissau & south Senegambia, like the Diola, Balanta or Bijagós. reading some papers from historians studying the African population in colonial Peru, Ecuador or Cartagena (Colombia), those same "nations" are mentioned there (even Balanta is still a surname in that region).

i'm just commenting here to honour and remember those names, those tribes. many of their people were present too in this side of the world and some of their descendants are surely still here!

thanks again for this video and all of your content!
    watching from México : )

  12. Kongolese are not west africans ,they are central african. The lack of information about central african , explain why a lot of people think they are only fron west africa.

  13. no yourubas in Biafra. they were in benin. tribes from Biafra like igbo tribe had the single largest impact on native black Americans dna like 40% of virginia were from Biafra mostly igbo and had a more equal distribution of men and woman so more likely to mate with each other and virginia slaves had higher fertility in general probably the highest rate and as a result became slave producing and exporter of slaves to other Southern states. congo/anglo had the 2nd biggest impact in usa. ghana ewe had the 3rd but were bigger in south carolina. mande tribes from mali, sierra leone, sengegambia, liberia were big in usa as well. Louisiana had more male slaves and a higher death rate and was a importer from carribean as well as states like virginia and south carolina they origin varied more but virginia slaves had the biggest impact on african american culture, dna etc. south carolina and Louisiana the other 2 major Port retain much more african culture because they had higher death rates and imported more africans and carribean Louisiana more so than south carolina but virginia had such a high birth rate that it basically stop importing any africans or carribean and as a result doesn't have as strong of african influence but a much more stronger generic african american culture

  14. No doubt West Africa had vast kingdoms, empires, cities, towns, villages, named villages, established lands, civilizations, communities, And other places where they had temples, huts, tombs, palaces, And even some pyramids and castles with gates, walls, windows, doors, support beams, And lots of other noticings

  15. 🌠JESUS IS COMING VERY VERY VERY SOON!🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺

The return of Jesus is at hand!

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN!

    📖 John 14:6 says,

" Jesus says, 'I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES UNTO THE FATHER (in Heaven) BUT BY ME'.

JESUS CHRIST is the only, true way to Salvation! It’s the free gift of GOD to all those who believe and trust Him!

SALVATION! is the redemption of one’s soul from eternal destruction after death of man, on this earth, by the cleansing of the blood, and by the death and power of resurrection of Jesus Christ

    📖Acts.4:12 says.

Salvation is found in no one else (except Jesus Christ), for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."

How is SALVATION gifted to man?

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

    📖John 3:3 says,

Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be Born Again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

How can a man be BORN-AGAIN?

To be Born-Again in spiritual sense, is to die to our old sinful nature and be born-again in the spirit, to be holy, righteous with a new nature in Christ Jesus.

👉To be born-again, we need to repent & confess our sinful past for a holy future.

    What is repentance?

👉 REPENTANCE! Everyone born into this world is a Born-sinner. Human nature is a sinful nature. Sin in us has defiled us and has separated us from the Holy God!

We have to repent for all the unholy, lawless transgressions of God’s commandments done willfully or unknowingly, in order to obtain mercy and grace so that we might not be judged and fall into condemnation, the condemnation of eternal hell.

📖 Acts.3:19 says,..✔️Repent, then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the LORD

    What is confession of sins?

👉 CONFESSION! The guilt of sin and it’s condemnation is rolled away if one truly regrets his sinful past and confesses them in the presence of Jesus Christ.

    📖Romans.10:9 &10

✔️That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

    📖 1 John, 1st chapter & verse 9 says..

✔️If we confess our sins, He (Jesus Christ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins(every sin)…

The sole purpose of sending Jesus Christ into this world more than 2020 ago is this👇

    📖John.3:16-17 says "

👉 GOD so loved the world (us) that He (Father GOD) gave His only begotten Son to die for us ( our redemption ), that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) should not perish (in hell) but have everlasting life.

👉 GOD has not sent His Son to condemn the world (us), but the world (we) through Him (Jesus Christ) might be saved.
