  1. Somalia has no right over Somaliland. Somaliland got her independence on the 26th of june 1960 before Somalia existence. Therefore its not succeeding secondly the act was never ratified as stated by the African union fact finding mission on Somaliland in 2005 Therefore Somalia occupied Somaliland illegally since 1961 and it has no legal argument Somalia will never take Ethiopia or Somaliland to court because it breaks international law for intellectuals u know nothing about the region another fun fact Somaliland was an independent country before Nigeria Uganda kenya Djibouti and many more when Somaliland got its independence it freed Mogadishu from the Italians which is why Mogadishu has no independence papers 97% of Somaliland voted against the union and it was never legal or ratified Mogadishu in return took our recognition papers and applied for a un seat using our paperwork its not their seat Mogadishu then committed the isaaq genocide desperately clinging on to independence. For 40 years Somaliland president and population are banned from Somaliland so as a Somalilander im happy Ethiopia recognises the reality on the ground its a win win situation… please research 😂😂😂

  2. Isn't it better for Somalia to fight al-Shabaab instead of fighting with Ethiopia first? Otherwise Ethiopia Al-Shabaab She can easily defeat Somalia by supporting them. Somalia is a 50% Al-Shabaab controlled country. Before you say that Somaliland is my territory, fight with al-Shabaab, Ethiopia does not suit you.😂😂

  3. Ethiopia is not the colonial masters,,,,,who did colonize the continent,,,,she stand in the defense of the continent ,,,,,therefore why is this kind of attitude is on leaching toward Ethiopia..

  4. WHEN WILL WE BRING TO LIFE THE SPIRIT OF AFRICAN UNITY?

Can't we see that it is the only thing that will prevent us from remaining in the mud of backwardness, INFERIORITY, and poverty?

If a member of our African family is cut off from access to the sea,
shouldn't we be removing stumbling blocks, and demonstrating the spirit of fraternal cooperation
by paving the way for their success and prosperity?

Don't we know that it is A DEMONIC DEVIL SPIRIT that causes us to recoil at the thought of our brother's prosperity?

WHY MUST IGNORANCE, BACKWARDNESS, AND INFERIORITY ALWAYS BE OUR LOT?

  5. Somali federal government. Respect the sovereignty of somalia 🇸🇴 . Awale state. Jubbaland state. Galmudug state. Hirshabeelle state. Khatumo state Koonfur galbeed, state. Somaliland state * Puntland state The capital region, Banadir. Somalia belongs to Somalias 🇸🇴 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

  6. You cannot trust a lair or cheater who will break their promise to you as they cheated Eritrea. no one can trust ethiopian politicians neither countries in region nor its own people.

  7. I was chocked what happened on October the 7h but then Israel did even worse and chocked the whole world I’m wondering what’s the difference between xamas and the state of Israel

  8. Somaliland's geopolitical maneuver on January 1st reflects a profound shift in regional dynamics, as it entered into a strategic agreement to lease a port to Ethiopia. This decision not only addresses Ethiopia's pressing need for maritime access but also underscores Somaliland's commitment to fostering solidarity and cooperation in the Horn of Africa. Despite Somaliland's lack of international recognition since declaring independence from Somalia in 1991, this move signals a pragmatic and forward-thinking approach to regional relations.

Somaliland, a self-declared republic with a distinct identity from Somalia, has been striving for recognition on the global stage for over three decades. The decision to lease a port to Ethiopia is not only a pragmatic economic move but also a diplomatic one, demonstrating Somaliland's willingness to engage with its neighbors for mutual benefit.

Ethiopia, a landlocked country with a population exceeding 120 million, has long faced challenges due to its lack of direct access to the sea. The port agreement with Somaliland offers Ethiopia a vital gateway for trade and economic development. The undisclosed financial terms of the 50-year lease suggest a substantial commitment from Ethiopia, underlining the strategic importance of this maritime access for the nation's growth.

The timing of this agreement is significant, considering Ethiopia's role as a key player in the Horn of Africa and its increasing influence on the continent. By securing a maritime outlet through Somaliland, Ethiopia aims to diversify its trade routes, reduce dependency on neighboring Djibouti, and strengthen its economic resilience.

Somaliland's decision to forge a closer economic relationship with Ethiopia has broader implications for regional geopolitics. Somalia, still grappling with internal challenges, has expressed discontent over Somaliland's pursuit of autonomy. However, Somaliland's assertion of independence aligns with global trends favoring stronger regional ties and economic interdependence.

The 50-year commitment underscores a long-term vision for collaboration and economic development between Somaliland and Ethiopia. The undisclosed financial terms leave room for speculation, but the transformative potential of this agreement is undeniable. It not only provides Ethiopia with a vital maritime link but also positions Somaliland as a key player in regional trade dynamics.

Somalia's resistance to Somaliland's independence complicates the geopolitical landscape. Despite Somaliland's assertions of autonomy, Somalia has been reluctant to acknowledge its independence formally. The port lease to Ethiopia further strains their already fragile relationship. However, Somaliland's decision to pursue economic opportunities independently underscores its determination to chart its course, irrespective of Somalia's stance.

Ethiopia's acknowledgment of Somaliland's autonomy in the context of this port agreement opens the door for a potential shift in regional dynamics. If Ethiopia formally recognizes Somaliland's independence, it could set a precedent for other nations to follow suit. This, in turn, may lead to greater international recognition for Somaliland, bolstering its position on the global stage.

In the broader context of global geopolitics, the collaboration between Somaliland and Ethiopia could have implications for the BRICS community. As emerging economies in the Global South continue to gain prominence, a stronger alliance between Ethiopia and Somaliland may position them as influential players within the BRICS framework.

In conclusion, Somaliland's decision to lease a port to Ethiopia represents a nuanced blend of economic pragmatism and diplomatic foresight. The agreement has the potential to reshape regional dynamics, challenge existing geopolitical narratives, and position both nations as emerging forces in the evolving landscape of the Horn of Africa. As the 50-year lease unfolds, it will be intriguing to observe the economic, diplomatic, and geopolitical ramifications of this landmark decision.

  9. Just two days before Ethiopia -Somaliland MoU, Somalia itself signed agreement with Somaliland in Djibouti to resume cooperative dialogues and combat crimes.

  10. It is another sad day for people of east Africa. Ahmed Abiy has destroyed ethiopia 🇪🇹 and he is destroying the region and the whole of Africa. As he said my mamma told that I will be seventh-king of Ethiopia. He want to relive time of ethiopia Kings and want conquer the region

  11. Eritrea has been an independent sovereign country, where its rights for independence was refused by its colonisers. In the 1950s and the 1960s, when all african colonised coutries were granted independence, Eritrea was forced for a federation with Ethiopia by force. That federation treaty was further repudiated and violated by Ethiopia in the 1960s. Eritrea resisted and won its independence in the year 1991. In the year 1993, Eritrea held a referendum and 99.8% of Eritrean People voted for independence.
Eritrea was colonised by the Turkish empire, then by the Egyptian, then by the Italian, then by the British, then by the Ethiopian.
Again in the 1950s, When all Africa countries were granted thier independence from their colonisers, Eritrean's right for independence was refused, its sovereign integrity was squandered then forced for federation. In the 1960s, That federation was repudiated and violated by Ethiopia to colonise Eritrea. That is why Eritrean people resisted, fought and won its independence. That is why 99.8% of Eritrean people voted "yes" for independence. All in all, for over a century, Eritrea was colonised by those multiple countries one after the other.

  13. There is no other way when you dealing enemy who want to finish you. Somali italia had no right to claims to somali British land .somaliland and somali italia had more 80 year old border for different colonial.

  14. It doesn’t mean that if inhabitants of somaliland are predominantly Somali then it is part of Somalia!! This is where Somalia gets wrong!. They already has too many problems to solve and should focus on the same. Alshabaab has occupied a huge chunk of the territory in which the government is no where to be seen 😊

  15. Ethiopia deserves unrestricted access to the Red Sea which it voluntarily gave up through the independence of Eritrea. This is more so important since it is surrounded by hostile neighbors.Mogadishu has zero control of Somaliland and should stop giving the impression otherwise.😊

  16. Somalitalia has NO Constitution, and NO order of Governing .anyone, there are more War lords and Al shabaab that are stronger than the Somali President him self. President of Somalia has no right to keep Somaliland and it's people independence hostage as Somaliland Self Governed it's people , Sees and Borders. Congratulations Somaliland & Ethiopia on this deal for better Future for both Countries 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  17. I know, and I'm certain 💯% France 🇫🇷 is behind distaplqce East Africa and encouraged Ethopia to do this kinds white man ignorant but I promise you France days will bee numberd in Djibouti my country my people country

  18. Somaliland is northern province of Somalia. It is not an independent country and therefore does not have any power to sign any agreement with any other country. Somaliland is under Somalia and this delusional MOU is null and void. Nothing can be signed without the Central Government of Somalias consent.

  19. Screw recognition and build the country up .Be strategic not pathetic this is not politics.Shame stop giving our
means to develop as country. Let us immigrants have a country to return to !!!!!!!!!
As somalilander I refuse my country to be exploited

  20. as somalis we blame our selfes couse we forgot haud and somali region the regions that uk gave ethiopia 1948 that's why ethiopia trying to get more land from our territory and this would be good for us to forget what divides us and fight for what unites us .

  21. Truth cannot be hidden for long. Somalia and all Arab countries along with Western powers supported Ertrean rebelels for several decades and finally caused Ethiopia to lose its ancient Red Sea coastal lands.
Ethiopia is simply doing business with Somalialand and making a formal political agreement. Ethiopia is Not colonizing Somaliland. Anyone opposing this business deal should also derecognize Eritrea as a nation and ask Eritrea to be under Ethiopian rule. Both Eritrea and Somaliland were carved out as separate teritories by colonialists/ imperialists. Sad to say both the Imperialist European Union and the Arabs are the Arch enemies of the beacon of black African independence, Ethiopia.
All African countries and black people around the world should support Ethiopia's peacefull strive to access the Red Sea and Indian Ocean.
Egypt is the embodiment of evil, not thanking Ethiopia for the free water getting from Ethiopian rivers. Egypt is asking for devine judgement and damnation on its people.

  22. Please be informed Somaliland gained independence from great britain in june 26, 1960 and Somalia got independence from Italy in july 1, 1960. The two united on july 1, 1960 as Somali Republic but Somali Italiana seized the whole power as a military dictatorship and committed genocide in the former british somaliland. Somaliland liberation armies defeated the military dictatorship and kicked its army out of its land and reclaimed its independence in 1991. Somaliland peacefully and democratically elected five presidents, parliaments of two houses and municipality governments since 1991. Somalia was fighting civil wars of its own for the last 32 years and is still fighting. All what Somalia needs to do today is to clean its own house which is in mess. Republic of Somaliland knows how to take care of its land and people.

  23. SOMALIA 🇸🇴, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Africa 🌍Both choose federalism and are Sovereign African countries. The pioneers of African liberation struggles of 1970-1980s.Against European C. apherthied 🇸🇴 🇪🇹.

  24. If unification of two countries on a parliament level approvement does not exist more than three years, and creating over 30 years bloody , non peaceful relation, how can we trust an individual level approved decisive and expensive long term relationships. Can't we learn from History ? This question is directed towards our current leaders of the Horn of Africa Countries. 🌍

  25. I’m somewhat extremely disappointed by the continuous excuses made by the international community and Somalia, who claim that Somaliland isn’t an independent nation.

International community, all African countries and the UN all seem to somehow suffer from a deliberate short term amnesia to acknowledge that Somaliland was an independent nation on the 26 June 1960 prior to the existences of either Somalia and other African countries had ever existed.

In reality, Somaliland is simply reclaiming its sovereignty from the failed union with Somalia in the 90s. On a positive note, I’m glad that Somaliland is actively engaging in their international affairs and agreements.
