Property was difficult to purchase, which leads me to ask if car buying the same as it is in the west? Or is it a lot of "hand shaking" on the price and for the paperwork?

Agree fully about not using a local driver, even a trusted one you have know for years.
My wife insisted in one after we finally got our Honda Pilot registered.
He broke the rear suspension and holed a tyre, tried to deny it…..
Then he hit the front headlight/wing
Then he reversed into a wall outside Coco Lounge, he was being directed by the Guard who told him to stop and the car has a reversing camera.
He drove over speedbumps like they weren't there and the front suspension now knocks.
I drove for the last week and like you said I found it to be fine once you get into the swing of it.
