A Tourist's Guide to Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Cote d'ivoire

From Togo I fly into Abidjan, Africa’s 4th largest city. After negotiating the horrendous traffic, I set off on foot to see the sights of the Plateau district.

I see the Central Mosque, the Cathedral, Le Pyramide, a whole load of skyscrapers and some bats.

  1. This typically the British drongo you don't want in your country. No culture, no education, no vision, no history. The only thing good is beers. They travel for sexe and alcohol. Thank you ivory Coast didn't give him a chance for these shit!!! Off you go to the uk.

  2. Kamikazi Tsunami ' s ex is from Ivory coast, my point is that all these people who commented about the beauty of the Ivory coast , are they blind ? Except you kamikaze tsunami are the only one who saw those ghettos over there? Or you are just jealous because the man has left you . Don't be there to Insulting the inhabitants of the Ivory coast, where you came from is not comparable to the Ivory coast, we don't have ghettos in our downtown. But I let you know, in this world you can see rich and poor people, in your country where you came from there are peoples who can't afford to have nice places to live. Thank you have good day.

  4. Aw bless you, you only stayed in tiny Plateau but there are so many really nice places, Cocody is pretty lovely, Riviera, Zone 4, Bietry, Marcory or the lovely Abidjan Islands like Bouley Island, Billiardair bay Island, The floating Island, if you want to stay in Abidjan but mate you can't come in Ivory Coast without visiting Bassam it is only 20 minutes away of Abidjan with the beach and all the coastline Mondoukou stop at Coconut village, Azurreti, Assinie and all the way to San Pedro, la Baie des sirenes (Mermaid Bay) which is a real paradise if you love the beach and the ocean. There is also Man if you love impressive Mountains with beautiful Jungles where you can find one of the highest mountains in Africa in the west part of the country or Yamoussoukro to visit the biggest Catedrale on earth or the Caiman and Crocodile Lac with thousands of them in the centre part of the country, there is so much that I can't enter it all in here, next time try to make friends or meet local people when you go to the restaurant ask to people where to go, nice places, what to do and they will be happy to tell you. There is always someone that will speak a bit of English in this country, Ask and they will show you around

  5. I’m Ivorian and this man he’s just real, for me nothing is done and there is so much to do. for me it's nonsense! black likes to settle for nothing, that's nothing !! travel to see other worlds.

  6. Visited Abidjan a few years back when my flight to Accra, Ghana was diverted due to technical problems. Stayed in the same Ibis hotel. My take on the scene was a considerably different. I met wonderful, strong people going about their daily lives focused on the same goals as would be found anywhere else in the world. Looking forward to the opportunity to return sometime to explore deeper into the interior. Overall, the people were cool, no bullshit.

  7. Hi, iam jean Luc. Iam from côte d'Ivoire I can speak both English and French. You to come here in cote d'ivoire? Please call me if you need any thing here is my number :0 0 22509-93-81-95 /01-71-96-71. And could be worthwhile.

  8. Narrated with the usual stereotypical perspective of Africa from outsiders. Don't you get tired of going around insulting countries and people busy minding their own business? Your review is the first one listed on You Tube for Abidjan and this is the message you chose to send about a beautiful city . Deep sigh!
