Bob and the people who made up the Wailers had been doing American soul, rnb, doowop, Motown etc then ska and mentho and jumped on the emerging genre of reggae and rode it to fame. There are pics of them in black skinny suits.Some of his reggae hits had been originally recorded as ska or rocksteady
