Jetour X70 Plus Review – Do we need another Chinese family SUV?

The Jetour X70 Plus is a 7-seater SUV from China and Jacob Moshokoa takes it for a drive. In this review, he looks at the Chery group structure, what’s on offer, the pricing, the specs and what you get for your money.

The X70 Plus is priced at under R500 000 and that makes it rather enticing for cash-strapped SA consumers. At this price…

  1. Another open ended review, where we didn't even get to see the 3rd row of seats, talk about the quality of the tech no view of the camera system, no safety features mentioned etc.. Love the enthusiasm, but every car review seems amateurish. Bring back Ciro!

  2. Liked how GWM has actually bought all they're brands under one name. But still dont understand why there's a bakkie brand name a suv brand name a sedan brand name, Toyota, vw and all those just give model names for each car not make a whole new brand.

  3. The problem with all these influx of chinese cars is quality will go down because the competition will causes different Chinese car manufacturers to undercut one another on price I mean theres GWM which makes the Haval then theres Chery with their Jetours etc i looked at the prices of the Jetour and its slightly cheaper than the Haval Jolion and i dont understand what's the point of having so many models under one brand with the same engines and features like which car must i buy? We need a law that limits the number of Chinese Car Manufacturers that can operate in South Africa because i know BYD will also release an influx of SUVs

  4. Thank you for this review! 🎉 I am currently looking 4 an affordable SUV & needed an honest review that addresses all aspects of the car so that I have more confidence before signing. Keep up the good work🎉

  5. I have watched 2 of your videos and where I previously quite enjoyed your videos, I am not really appreciating your obvious bias displayed. Things like "why do many names under one brand" – honestly, who cares…. Just provide the facts, not your personal bias about the vehicle you are driving.

  6. Every single person I know who purchased a Chinese car say the petrol consumption is poor. Most of these Chinese cars use one engine – a 1500cc Turbo. Where is the innovation and engine variations ?

  7. I personally believe the Chinese are doing a great job with all these exterior and interior designs for such price. I only wish the engine was 2Ltre . I would but it without second thought. If you were to buy other SUV car with all these features, the price would probably be Double Double.

  8. So Jetour is there along with Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo for one reason, increased market share, if youre searching for a car in a segment they offer youre bound to hit one of thier options. Look at it this way, why is Opel in the market despite the Mokka and Polo literally sharing a platform? Same reason.

On the car itself, at that price a Xpander doesnt make any sense, for one youre getting way more airbags, plus you get a way more luxurious cabin and tech you would find in a Range Rover. The fuel consuption is worrying unless you take into account this thing is a big 7 seater with Merc levels of luxury. The boot though is a bit concerning, is it that the cooler box couldnt fit in any orientation with the third row down?

  9. Been waiting for this video… Just sealed the deal for me. Going to finalize the purchase.

Just was worried about the build quality. The rest I'll find a way to deal with it. Cause no ways am I continuing with German cars that cost an Arm and a leg. Where parts and service require a lung and liver as downpayment.

  10. I see some folks responding negatively to Jacob's review but honestly I believe he balanced things out, spoke about the Pro's & Con's of the vehicle. Some folks caught feelings for some reasons, guys if you like the car just go out & buy it.If he came here praising the car you would immediately say he was paid for this review.Even our legend Ciro would be brutally honest,With them throwing so many products into the market can make you concerned with the built quality in the long term, the Chinese cars do offer value for money we can all agree on that,I suppose let's choose a struggle
