I can't believe they're missing the point here! lmao. There's nothing wrong with teaching your daughters to be independent and having the ability to get their own, but what about teaching them to be wives too? This mentality, "I don't need a man for anything" is what in fact breeds the disrespect of the black man. Say what you want but the caller who touched on "masculine energy" was on to something. He just didn't know how to articulate it. Teaching your daughters a mindset of "I don't need a man" is teaching them to be masculine. That's why highly career-oriented women (independent), tend not to get married b/c they have too many masculine traits (Need to work, boss bi#%h attitude, etc.)

I literally just got through seeing a video about black people going off on a Heinz ad getting because the ad had a black married woman with her family but no father and hear this BLACK MAN on here telling the world just like the rest of the black men that black women are raised with no farther . Do y'all see what these narcissists be doing they go out and talk bad to the whole world about black women but when someone outside the black race say something about it and it backfires on them they holler racist and black men are the most oppressed and want everybody to stick up for them. Why get mad about something that literally came out of their own mouths.
What i dont understand is the focus of black men and the media on black women "disrespecting" black men. Why isn't a constant debate going on about the "other women" who drag black men through the courts when divorce time comes, or calls cops on their black men. OR is that not disrespect.

Notice how this conversation always turns to deflection, gaslighting and this crazy idea that all Black men want to abuse and opress Black women. No one is mentioning anything about vetting to find a good Black man. We don't even see the "not all!" argument in defense of good Black men. My dad told me to have your own if not your financial status is what he makes if. If a man has money you have money but if he goes broke you go broke. Columbus Short is an example. He got hooked on drugs and lost his job and went broke. If his woman depends on him for her finances then she is broke with him. Women and men need to have their own.
The war started when black women refused to put up with cheating, 👊🏾, and their husbands having outside babies, and they started getting divorced from those black men and their daughters took note. The other reason is what. Envy just said. By telling your daughters to not rely on anyone, you plant a seed of distrust which pushes them into a mindset that does not often yield healthy relationships. In an attempt to protect them, he may have started them on a course of bad habits and mindsets counterproductive to becoming great wives in a marriage. Not necessarily saying wives in a traditional sense but in the sense of marriage being Union where two people love the rest of their lives together.

I know a number of great men that I adore immensely. I also know a number of bum ass men who expect a woman to carry their overloaded baggage, and those are the men that complain and make the most excuses for their shortcomings, and also the ones that complain the most about women, especially Black women.
Maybe these women don’t respect you because you don’t know how to take care of yourself, and that’s why you’re not able to sustain in any meaningful relationship. Maybe if you focused on fixing your issues instead of suppressing them, those same Black women may come around and support you more.
