Lebanese officials say at least 9 people were killed and nearly 28-hundred injured when pagers used by the Hezbollah militant group exploded simultaneously across the country.

Whenever a new phone is to be licensed the Board of Trade requires full software and circuit details. They pass this to GCHQ, who pass this to Israel. Then the boffins in israel design a set of patches that can be sent to any phone as required. These patches can do a wide range of things from making the phone ping to a cell tower even when switched off, to turning on the microphone to eavesdrop, to remotely destructing the instrument. When you switch your cellphone on the first information it sends to the network is its IMEI number, then the SIM information. It is the IMEI that both identifies your phone and allows the celltower "switch" to configure information that your phone can use.

so the cause of this incident is hezbollah itself, they informed themselves to left their phone and use old tech to evade israel spying. this problem is can be prevented if the hezbollah checks their equipments before spreading it especially imported one.

It’s sad when so many comments joke about this pager attack. Almost certainly, innocent people were harmed. Israelis and Palestinians are related tribes which have fought over the land for thousands of years. When will it end? It won’t.
