From Allen Sides….
“First let me say that Micheal was one of the nicest most thoughtful people I have ever met. Having him in my studios was a total joy. What I meant when I spoke about Quincy had nothing to do with Q’s musical input to any of Michael’s song’s. Quincy was more than a producer he was somewhat of a life coach with Michael and they were very close. I saw this many times over the years including during We Are The World. I am sure Bruce Sweidien who was one of my closest friends would confirm this if he was still with us. When I said Michael was high as a kite it was because I had never seen him so hyped up (I have no idea if he had taken anything) and Quincy was smoothly trying to calm him down and keep things rolling smoothly. What I meant about things were much crazier after Quincy left was more about the shocking amount of studio time and money being spent with very loose coordination. Michal made great records with Quincy and great records after Quincy. I watched Michael at work making music many times over the years and he was involved in every decision. I should also note that Bruce Swedien was an integral part of all those records way more than just an engineer and Michael valued and trusted his advice. Hope this helps, Allen

@MarcusBailey-k1g

I was even high, I was 11.
All I did was watch it on MTV

@rogerdelillo2394

You have no idea how much pain he was probably in

I will always honor Michael Jackson. ❤❤❤😢 love him

@knuckledragger9322

We Are the World is the lowest point in the history of modern music.

@msoileau83

Probably because he just had part of his fucking scalp burnt …

@toddgittins5692

Communist, Bruce Springsteen, was there.

@JaneFoe-o6c

Bullshit and Bullshit

@robinbolton6064

I think that burn he suffered was way worse than reported. After all he was hitting on all cylinders and his handlers just numbed him out and the show went on and on!

@kimakotrotman6860

No he wasn't. He is on another planet as an artist.

@finderkeeperrrs

People always have seem bullshit to aay about Mike, jealousy? Idk but we can't have nothing good ever smh

@finderkeeperrrs

The guy telling the story seems very high, slow down 😂😂

@user-tp1uu3ir1d

@Bennie-73

Snitches get what?

@kimr45

Why do I remember that famous call and response duet being between Springsteen and Ray Charles instead of Stevie Wonder we now see?

@rasheed9705

MJ was very on point in the Making of We Are the World. It's all documented.

@kathykb8123

This guy talks so fast I can't even understand what he's saying in the beginning.

He wasn't high your High

@guaromiami

Quincy was his WHAT? "Cluss cluss"?

@kianagaddy3416

Looked like Mikewas actually one of the sober ones!

@The1KingAG

Have you seen the behind the scenes? If MJ was high he would not have noticed Cyndi Lauper and 2 others singing out of key. Also he wouldnt have tried fo have everyone singing the chorus in an African dialect.

@NickWilson81

Bull shit

@JSMaruca

Michael didn't get high. This a-hole just made that up to sound sensational. Shame on him.

@MarketAdvisor-qd9ut

Michael was high and he was the only one who did his part in one take ?

@DanteFlores-s9d

Someone whos never named in these interviews is Paul Simon. Was he the only one sober? 😅

@RickWaite-u8m

BS Wacko Jack did nearly all of his parts in private and laid the demo way before that gathering.

@TedDiabetes

People need to stop defending a kiddie toucher.

@FuturePast2019

Who wrote the melody?

@RickyB464

And still nailed his takes like an OG whilst everyone was fcking shit up 😂

@brianmohan9303

And Dan Ackroid sang.

@clutischannel

@MARYSSON22

@karlepaul6632
