Your budget and calcution is flawed, that meal is way beyond 1 dollar, you did not add the price of the corn flour and gari. Those are the main ingredient!

Eating vegetables raw is the best, the nutrients are more conserved and not heat destroyed by long cooking. This is actually the best way to eat veggies. It full of health benefits.

Iam a Ghanaian and i also eat exact way as togolese because we share the same culture with togo , Cote D'Ivoire and benin as u correctly said. It much healthier than cooking the stew in oil. U get every bit of the nutrients in that food
