I consider them mid luxury. But I buy because I think something's pretty and I love it; and I do love Kate Spade. I love how Spade pays attention to the INTERIOR of the bag <3 Chanel is turning into a dupe of their own brand tho. Fake hardware w/gold that rubs off, peeling leather, stitching crossed. What a rip off. They wont be a high end item long fr The only ''real'' Chanel handbag is to be found in the vintage resale market 100%.

If you can find a bag in a TJ Maxx, or outlet mall it is NOT LUXURY. Coach, MK etc.
I carry everything from Hermes to Madewell. Some of my favorite bags cost $100-$300. I buy bags because I like them and if they’re thousands or only a couple of hundred, what should matter is quality and how YOU want to wear them. You can make a $100 well made leather no-name bag look high end if it’s carried right and if you’re dressed sharply. Just my 2 cents.

If it’s over $100 retail it’s “Luxury” imo. It can do the same thing as a potato sack.
As long as you like the bag you’re wearing, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. I love Kate Spade because the way they have the internal pockets and their $400 price point is about where my mental limit is for spending on a handbag. Good video.
Luxury has to do with quality as well. Prices for even "luxury" is hard to justify now.

I do consider Coach luxury due to its quality and craftsmanship. There's a difference between retail and outlet though, since Coach produces for its outlets. So Coach retail is luxury, yes. But affordable luxury. Michael Kors, Kate Spade etc. are not luxury. The quality is poor and the branding isn't good either. Too bad Coach gets put into the same box as these brands. I think they need to work on their branding and get rid of the Outlets. Or sell retail from past seasons at outlets and stop producing the cheaper versions, that just damage their image.

I think the Dior bag is edgy actually it has a vintage /classy vibe with character. You could style it. A lot of bags at the moment look similar and boring actually it's like they are all playing it safe with a Hermès Kelly shape/ style.
I agree with the tiers. I been telling people tat if u see them in Ross Dress for Less, they are not “luxury brand” and does not worth the full price on the tag. And look where those brands ranked on that chart 🫤
Now, not being categorised as a luxury brand doesnt means they are not expensive or got bad material/craftsmanship. simply the brand image isnot there with Hermes or Chanel tats all

The only problem I continually have with Coach bags are the Detachable straps. Well, and the dog chain as well. On the Jes Crossbody, Cassie 19, Mini Darcie & Shay Crossbody …. every single one of them had the strap come off while I was wearing it multiple times. Just out of no where. I'm a gal who loves high street – I recommend to people Dooney & Bourke, MK & Kate Spade now. I would probably recommend a Coach Tote because they are well made and beautiful bags – I just consistently have problems with their strap clasps. But I do agree with this video too and agree for people to just buy what they like and what they'll use ❤

Its all very subjective. To someone with little money who has saved up £250 and bought the bag of their dreams, then yes to them this is luxury, to someone with a bit more to spend who buys a Mulberry then this is luxury. However lovely the Chanels, Diors and Hermes are at the end of the day the corners may well scuff, the leather may get scratched, £2k plus wont stop that. I agree Coach is amazing and the new quilted bag they have is a wonderful buy instead of the Gucci which it looks similar too.

I own a couple of LV, Chloè, Marc Jacobs and Kate Spade, all different price points, but all of them of nice quality. Got my last KS from the last sale, 150 pounds for a full lather medium cross-body bag, lovely leather, very happy with the quality 🙂
I think luxury can be defined in 2 different and distinct ways. The first is getting a high quality item for a high but understandable price. Is it significantly more expensive than similar items you can get? Yes, but does the quality back it up? Also yes. The second is an item that may be of higher quality, at least you may expect it to be, but the price less reflects the quality than it does the accessibility, or lackthereof, the brand is attempting to achieve. Both can be considered luxury, but as you stated, it truly depends on who you ask. Michael Kors may be considered luxury to some, but not to others, whereas Coach is a luxury because the price and the quality of the item are high and fair. YSL is a luxury because despite the fact that the quality isn’t as up to par with the price, the exclusivity is the defining factor. Personally, I greatly prefer a fair value for the price I’m paying. My favorite luxury item, (that is a luxury to me), is my MCM powder pink studded backpack. I use it all the time and it holds up well, matches my aesthetic, and definitely gets a lot of compliments. It was worth it to me and the price tag was fair for all of the beneficial factors, however I don’t think everyone would agree with me, and I don’t expect them to. “Luxury” just means different things to different people and I really like seeing how different individuals choose to spend their money on things they covet. I never would, but if it would make someone happy to spend their hard-earned money on a LV Neverfull, then I hope they get their bag!
I have 4 Michael Kors handbags not the “MK” version it’s funny now that I’ve heard they are not “in” any more, I’ve started wearing them. Same thing happened with coach and I wore it without a care. I tend to go for classic styles that mimic a high end look because I rather not spend on high ends items.

As the owner of a few MK bags, the answer is no, they are not even remotely luxury brands. lol I'm happy with them, they were what I wanted, they are not "replacement bags" for anything else. Still not luxury (high or low end). Designer bags, yes. Luxury bags, no.
Living and working in Japan, I can finally afford Kate Spade bags without breaking the bank (I'm Malaysian and while I was still living in Malaysia and making Malaysian money, I could never bring myself to spend so much money on a bag).
Even if I did have the money, I still wouldn't purchase a bag from Chanel and Dior because I just can't bring myself to spend so much money on just a bag. 😂
I only like the perfume from Coach. The bags don't suit my taste.
Michael Kors is very popular here in Germany. Probably because of the rather austere, masculine design. It's not feminine enough and too hard for me.
Kate Spade is not well represented here in Germany.
Ted Baker has beautiful designs, but the quality doesn't match the high prices. I often see Ted Baker products in second hand shops, especially the bags.
I personally like River Island. And my favourite German designer is Alfredo Pauly.
American brands are also known here, but they are not as popular as the European ones.
The category for these brands is called, "Premium Mediocre". Mostly good design, or knock off of a good design, but using inferior materials and often third world labor with only marketing go sell the idea of "luxury".
Can you create your own hierarchy pyramids going from high street, contemporary to luxury, high end luxury? Separate ones for bags, clothes, and shoes. Pretty please.
I rather pay Coach $1000 for a customized Rogue than the same amount to Chanel for a card case that everyone can have

There’s a difference between luxury, designer, and name brand.
As a American I love supporting these brands and love them I own a lot of LV and Chanel but Ralph Lauren will always have my heart

If you actually look at the quality, those "luxury" brands dont stand up to the quality of the brands on your bottom tier.
But if spending money for a name is your thing. Have at it. No judgements.

You can find luxury brands on sale in France during the solds and sample sales.

Coach quality surpassing some of the major fashion house leather, even vintage coach sistaon itself throughout time thats great quality. Yes its affordable but according to whom? Also Ralph lauren yes easily accessible but can be procey as well. Some Chanel leather is low quality but youre buying the name. Whatever to each its own

I’m a Massive Kate Spade fan (and Ted Baker) for me it really is luxury. I could never afford a YSL, Louis Vuitton bag etc. so they are my treat myself.
You don’t consider these brands luxury because your not paying thousands for an over priced bag that isn’t even worth it. All you’re paying for is a name that isn’t even worth it and the quality isn’t much better.
I don’t know what makes a luxury brand but I can say that I have several Coach, Brahmin and Michael Kors hand bags and they are all very well made of quality leather (I like leather bags) plus they’re really attractive! I didn’t even know who Michael Kors was when I purchased my first bag I just saw a bag I fell in love with. All of the young women these days seem to be carrying LV or Channel and it almost seems over done. I always assume they’re following some influencer.
