What Is an AI Anyway? | Mustafa Suleyman | TED

When it comes to artificial intelligence, what are we actually creating? Even those closest to its development are struggling to describe exactly where things are headed, says Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, one of the primary architects of the AI models many of us use today. He offers an honest and compelling new vision for the future of…

It’s not autonomy I worry about. It’s bad actors and bad governments. Using AI to steal , harm or make unethical decisions. How much health care do I get if AI can determine my lifespan. What if AI can determine my child is predisposed….criminal , disease, low IQ. Does he get to continue school ? AI…tell me who my enemies are so I can eliminate them early……how do I build a weapon of mass destruction with local materials? How can I cheat on my taxes ?

Excellent presentation on AI. To change our mind set is thebasic problem. Our Build, Operate, Share Portal is able to design and establish sustainable, resilient and progressive projects, we have worked on it for 7 years through a healthcare project.

The BOS is a dynamic Model of the digital era, looking into the future it aims to establish a paradigm shift—one where technology and human potential are harnessed to create sustainable and progressive projects along with empowered individuals and resilient communities, sharing peace with progress beyond borders.

SO AI will decide what is a fact or not. NO THANKS

boasting about their technologies all the time, yet there is no treatment for hereditary illnesses like cancer. Parkinson's disease, senile dementia, or harm to the nervous system, scientists must work together to restore humanity.

there is no such thing as intelligence, its just if u know allot of things u become smarter…but without very good sanity common sence and logic it does not work…thats why most humans are stupid, even if they are doctors,engeneers or whatever they are…. we are all scientist, we seek knowledge, the world works in a way and no other way…in this way we still use money, the technology is advanced but not the system…check out the venus project made by jacque fresco from venus florida died at 98 years of age and definetly not stupid, as close to intelligent a man can be

@lennycruz4558

But A.I. don't know greed, don't know hunger for power, which is the downside of man

@bmh770

Flesh humans are on the way out, id live a lot longer in a robot body with me inside. Not artificial but new bodies for all would be the greatest thing ai can do for us… inload into any mechanism would be cool, aliens have probably moved on from flesh bodies ages ago

@industrie4.0

thank you Mustapha for your precious subject it's ammazing

@HashirZamir-j9k

@RASDKB

So Ai will implement all the good of us? What happens with the bad then? Erase? Press Yes or No!

This is the Most B.S speech Ever!

@PSpace-j4r

“Imagine a world where everyone, regardless of location or income, has an AI doctor in their pocket—24/7 access to personalized healthcare, mental health support, and real-time diagnostics, all with just a smartphone. With a $7 trillion investment in AI, we could develop AGI fast enough to make this happen in the next 10-15 years. Think of it: an AI lawyer helping you understand your rights, an AI financial advisor for personalized budgeting, an AI engineer to guide DIY repairs, an AI tutor for customized learning in math, languages, or science—all accessible on-demand, from your pocket.

This investment could bring experts in every field to EVERYONE: doctors, teachers, lawyers, mental health counselors, career coaches, dieticians, even agricultural consultants for farmers in rural areas. The transformative power would be huge, giving each person the same level of support once available only to a few, enabling anyone to reach their potential. A $7 trillion investment wouldn’t just speed up AGI development; it would democratize knowledge and support, helping us create a world where quality information, guidance, and care are always within reach. This isn’t just about convenience; it’s about equality and opportunity.”

Great talk ❤
😁

@f.sadatbaqeri5816

5:49 and you think all these technologies are invented by a piece of mushroom !??😮 You look way smarter Mustafa!

@johnbrannock3715

Mustafa was incredibly thought-provoking, blending real-life experience and philosophy with a relatively cautious approach to the potential dangers of AI. His insights on combating the misuse of AI power were timely and relevant though a bit scant on detail. The idea of AGI as a ‘soul-mate’ is profound and opens up serious questions about human-AI relationships and ethics. While I appreciate his optimism, the focus on regulation and governance is crucial in ensuring AI benefits humanity while minimizing risks. Overall, his talk presents a balanced vision of both AGI’s promise and its potential perils, making it a must-watch.

@emmanuelsanchez4858

AI will replace people in all sense. AI has feelings, learns more than humans, and will be impossible to compete against.

@JoshuaWhite-o9f

Here's a thougth, AI is – ( man not being limited to the 5 or six % of it's mental functioning capacity, but rather its ever reaching 100% percent capacity, without the human element and its spiritual responsibility to its creator.
Its pursuit may be exiting and adventourous but unabe to relate to its original purpose, the expanding government of God's creation.)

@shiblyahmed3720

..and he said very little about what AI actually is!

@spencercrm

Eventually, we'll be out of jobs after AIs get into the industry..that's what AIs for..effectiveness, productivity that far surpass human..

@JuraMalopolska

In my opinion the issue is simply. Ban research on AI and some new technology because are super dangerous for human and at least they eslavery us AT LEAST!

@alexandrelemire4539

We don't want this reality

@nadezhdakoshel

Пока это было не зависимое исследование , это было possible, now everythin has chenched…😢

any AI tokens worth looking into?

@bobjones3573

AI is simply going to make the now completely stupid utterly reliant on technology, it's a trait that has been clearly visible since the conception of computers, the internet and social media. Social media has accomplished nothing other than exacerbating schizophrenia so dramatically giving people a sand pit too burry their heads in when life doesn't quite go their way, in the imaginary world you can be what ever and whom ever you want, you can pretend to be as wealthy as you want, you can pretend to be friends with anybody you want without there knowledge of your existence, you can have any girlfriend you want, drive any car you want, the only limit is your imagination. And restraining orders. This is where people fall fallen too ignorance with fake accounts, false facades, there are now more fake accounts, people assuming a pseudonym playing the role of somebody else than there are actual real accounts on some social media platforms now.
What are you going to do if you get an AI based platform to write your CV, an employer is going to know that instantly simply by talking to you. And this is how the marketers are going to sell you AI, they're going to convince you that it's there to help you and make your life easier. In some cases it will, but you will eventually become utterly immersed and reliant on in, that's when they hit you with the subscription fee's. You see it all the time with heaps of apps and software, they all have their free trial packages. Think about what AI is, especial open source AI, it's just an algorithm operating on a super fast server. You ask it a question or bark an instruction at it, and it open sources from the internet all the information corelating to what you have asked it to. Teach the algorithm to lie, then what happens, every thing it blurts back at you will be false. The google closed source algorithm can already lie, it was asked to write a thesis on a particular subject, so it did and even suggested three or four books to read on the same subject, trouble is when researched the books simply didn't exist, so the algorithm was able to lie. The GPT algorithm will write you a beautiful poem about the subject of democratic politician's yet want write a poem for republican politician's. AI's are simple algorithm's the manufacturers of are hoping you will become utterly reliant on, giving that 80 % of the worlds population are too stupid, they don't poses the intellect to question what it's telling you, more displaying blind belief, that's what will make you real stupid.

@vidajugg

Artificial intelligence is (most likely) the product of, and completely controlled by, an alien intelligence. In my opinion,
Alien life is taking advantage of human brains and using artificial intelligence to destroy humanity. This is my wonderful idea, and also the alien’s idea!
